We were picked up by our guide, Eric, who brought us to an arts and craft market in Dakar. Eric assisted us in selecting unique handicrafts to bring home as souvenirs of our trip. He also assisted in bargaining with the vendors and would frankly advise us if the price was unfair. My husband expressed an interest in West African music and he brought him to a place where he was able to purchase CD's. Finally, Eric brought us to a fabric store where we were able to buy backpacks for our grandchildren made out of cloth with distinctive African designs. This was a half day tour but we accomplished a lot in the alotted time. Thank you, Eric for your assistance.

I had a wonderful experience with Eric and his assistant Michael. They met me at my cruise port and took me by taxi to the central market. This was a shopper's paradise! Eric communicated with the shopkeepers and helped me with my bargaining. He made sure that I got good deals. We also went to the tourist market which had some unique items. I had the most fun at the central market as I enjoyed the hustle and bustle of the crowded streets. I always felt safe. I ate a lovely lunch at a local restaurant and was dropped of at my cruise port. This tour was worth every dollar!

Overall and hands-down, this is the best excursion ever!! I highly recommend you book this excursion before attempting to go to the markets in Senegal. At the markets, the vendors try to make money- over priced- with Pape Eric, that does not happen. He was able to navigate the stalls, find all the items we were looking for and he was there to ward off people who were looking for handouts or just trying to get over on the tourists. Crossing the streets and not getting lost in the market would also be a concern to someone not familiar with the market. After the market, we went to the Resistance statue and had a delicious lunch. I suggest that you contact Eric for all of your tourist needs in Senegal. The price was a little high, but worth every dollar For the experiences we had with Pape Eric, he could probably have charged more!!
