Itsukushima Shrine Treasure Hall
Established in the 6th century, this shrine is one of Japan's finest, and is famous for its beautiful Shinden-zukuri style structure (architecture representative of a nobles' residence in the Heian period). The contrast of the green of Mount Misen behind the lacquered shrine pavilion and the blue of the Seto Sea is beautiful and evocative of the underwater palace of Ryugujo.

This was a very good trip. I had planned this mainly for Hiroshima, however the island was a real treat, we enjoyed it a lot! The guides were very nice and did a great job!

This is a group tour so it lacks the flexibility of a private guide. We enjoyed it all, although I would have distributed the time more away from Miyajima and toward Hiroshima. The later being the primary focus of the day it should have received the bulk of the time. We did appreciate the seat reservations on the bullet train. We have had other tours that provided only unreserved seating with poor results. It is a long day but well worth it.

Met my expectations, although I think it was a wee bit expensive for a one day tour that did not include lunch.

Miyajima is a beautiful island with the potential for hiking, riding the Gondola, and, of coarse, shopping. Unfortunately there was not enough time to eat lunch and get to Hiroshima. The memorial park and the museum are excellent explaining the consequences of the atomic bomb. From Osaka it was about a 14 hr day.

Great experience with a great guide from Hiroshima! Very well organized by the company! I would have preferred to spend more time at the Memorial museum but that is fine.
