As a Greek hoplite warrior, you will learn the strategy, equipment, and movement that made these soldiers unique.

If you are a history lover looking for something new and exciting, join us for the first Historical outdoor fighting representation experience about the Greco-Persian wars. Explore the hidden technique of the ancient Greek phalanx during the Persian wars and interact with your team using historically accurate replicas of Ancient Greek Hoplite equipment.

This experience is perfect for families, couples, or groups of friends who want to enjoy history while having fun and interacting with one another. You’ll get the chance to make new friends from all around the world and participate in sport exercises like Othismos or Push.

Did the Greek Warrior experience with Gregory and had an amazing time. We were a group of 4 women (between 20 to 60 years old) and Gregory tailored the experience to our group's interests and physical abilities. Learned so much about the military history of Athens while also getting into the mindset of a hoplite for a few hours! Cannot recommend this experience more, was a great way to really connect to the history and Gregory was an amazing teacher and historian!

Greg is one of the friendliest, most enthusiastic people you will meet during your entire trip to Athens, and possibly the rest of your life! His knowledge about greek history, and other world history was both very impressive and engaging. He got you very engaged with the way the Spartans fought, demonstrating with various different weapons like spears, shields, short swords etc. It was about 90 minutes, but the time flew by. If you are enthusiastic about military history I would recommend.

Very knowledgeable about Greek history and combat. Gregory had a passion for Greek history and is very engaging, with pictures and animated story telling. He knows slot about combat and it was a great experience! I took my friend for her birthday and she loved it

Brilliant session with Greg, who was very knowledgeable regarding Greek (and English!) history. The kids had a great time learning about and engaging in Greek military tactics, the same was the case for my wife and I who also really enjoyed the concise timeline that Greg took us through from the Mycenaeans to the times of Alexander - he filled in a lot of holes in our knowledge. Gregs command of English is second to none that we have experienced so far on our summer holiday, and all the instructions for the meet up were spot on! Honestly this event is money well, well spent. Would love to return on another visit to Greece, especially after hearing about Greg's plans to make this even better :-)

Such a great experience! Not only was Gregory knowledgeable, hands on, and friendly, but he clearly ensures the experience is tailored to suit his audience. The group prior to us had kids and he made sure the balance of fun and information was appropriate for them whereas for us, he checked in with us to see what we wanted to get out of the experience. We wanted history as well as the opportunity to swing a few swords! and he certainly delivered! Absolutely would recommend :)

We absolutely loved the Greek Warrior Experience! Gregory was AMAZING such a kind soul with an incredible amount of knowledge about Greek history. We learned so much about how ancient Greek warriors used to fight, and we had so much fun trying on and using the equipment ourselves. It felt like stepping back in time! Gregory not only made the whole experience exciting and educational, but he also gave us great recommendations for places to visit during our stay in Athens, which we truly appreciated. If you’re in Athens, I highly, highly recommend this experience it’s fun, unique, and unforgettable!

We had a fantastic experience with the Greek Warrior Training! Gregory was incredibly engaging and knew just how to connect with the kids. He struck the perfect balance between teaching history and making it fun through hands-on activities. The children were fully immersed—running, learning, and laughing—and by the end, they had a much deeper understanding of why Greek warriors used certain weapons and strategies. Gregory was also wonderfully attentive, sensing when the kids needed a break and adjusting the pace accordingly. A memorable and educational experience that brought history to life!
