  • Unforgettable experience made even better with smooth planning with Cotuzas guide

Climbing the Santa Ana volcano was a truly amazing experience and I highly recommend this private tour with Cotuzas. Jorge with Cotuzas Tours communicated clearly and quickly to all my planning questions and made the whole day easy, fun, and safe. Since this is a private experience, we got to avoid any inconvenience of picking up/dropping off other travelers and could use all our time to experience this unique and beautiful volcanic area. Jorge drove us directly to and from our hotel in a large and very comfortable SUV. He brought us to 2 great restaurants (breakfast before the hike and lunch after) that both had great food and gorgeous panoramic views of Lake Coatepeque. Jorge managed everything necessary for us to enter both of the parks. The hike is steep at times, and I appreciated Jorge encouraging me to climb as slow as I needed and take breaks even though my friend was able to go faster than me. I was sweating, but the summit is absolutely worth the climb! Jorge is very knowledgeable and I had a lot of fun asking him questions and learning about the different ecologies of the volcano. If you want a private hike and an extremely smooth experience planning and on the day of - book with Cotuzas.

We had a wonderful day with Cotuza tours! All communication was good, informative and clear. We were picked up early in the morning and made an excursion to the Santa Ana volcano, and after that we went to Coatepeque where we had lunch and after that went swimming. On the way home we stopped to buy food, something we appreciated! All day was prodigy we can highly recommend Cotuza tours in El Salvador!

Jorge is amazing! He picked us up at the airport at 1:00 am and we went straight to the volcano for the sunrise hike. Highly recommend Jorge and this tour! He also took us on the 7 waterfalls hike on Christmas Eve. Hardest working man in El Salvador!

Jorge is the best!!! Picked us up from our Airbnb, drove us to Volcán Ilamatepec, encouraged us the whole way, never rushed us, took some pictures for us, took breaks when needed. He knows all the best spots around! Super sweet, respectful, and safe!

  • By far the BEST in El Salvador

Jorge is a very kind and professional tour guide. We had 3 other private tours in San Salvador during our trip, and Jorge was by far the best driver, as the traffic in and around Dan Salvador is awful and requires experience and lots of patience. He can also take drone footage (upon request) of the breathtaking scenery you will experience with him.

This was such an incredible experience. From the pick up, and Jorge went out of his way to find us coffee, to the drop off, when he went out of his way again to find me a post office, the whole day was great. The hike was very challenging for me (33 years old) mainly due to the elevation. Jorge allowed us to stop as many times as we needed and carried our water bottles for us so we didn’t have the extra weight. He also had extra sunscreen in his bag if we needed it. The views at the top was soooo worth it and there’s even a man selling ice cream at the top. It took our group about 2.5 hours to go up and 1.5 hours to go down. We then stopped for lunch at the lake and Jorge recommended some delicious ceviche as a starter. We took a beautiful mountain road to get back to our hotel on the beach. Jorge had left that morning at 4am to spend the day with us and we are so grateful for the time, energy, and thoughtfulness of the day. Highly recommend this tour!!
