Michael and our driver Mr Wong were great. Michael English was very good. He gave us lots of tips on where to eat and what to do around our hotel. We were travelling around China for a bit and Michael gave us information on them as well. We were told 2 days in Xi’an would be enough. We had 3 and wish we had added another day. So I would recommend 4 nights and do this 2 full on days in between. There was so much to take in and Michael was full of information. One of my favourite places in China. It was great not having to work out where to get lunch as well. Had 2 nice lunches. This tour is a must in Xi’an. Another bonus was both men didn’t smoke which isn’t like most Chinese.

Michael was a fantastic tour guide. He was extremely well versed in Chinese history and was able to give us the background information we needed to fully enjoy the experience. He was always smiling and went out of his way to make sure we got the most from our experience. For example, my husband's flight was cancelled the night prior to the tour, so he ended up taking a train from Beijing. Rather than sticking with the original itinerary which would have meant my husband would miss the entire first day, Michael offered to rearrange things so that we could pick up my husband at the train station so that he only missed one activity! In addition, when Michael discovered that I had never used chopsticks and the restaurant did not have any forks, he disappeared for a few minutes and returned with a bag of ramen noodles which included a fold-up fork which I could use. Talk about going above and beyond! I would highly recommend this tour as it hits the “must-see” places in Xi’an, and if you are lucky enough to get Michael, you’ll be in for a real treat!

We booked a two day tour with Lily's Private Xi'an Tour. Michael was our tour guide for the two days. He was delightful and very knowledgeable about Xi'an. We did the terracotta warriors on the first day which was very impressive. the highlight was the bike ride around the city wall of Xi'an on the 2nd day. it is a great way to see the city and it's good mix of the old and new. I would recommend Michael very highly.
