Ancient Corinth (Archaia Korinthos)
Corinth was a city-state on the Isthmus of Corinth, the narrow stretch of land that joins the Peloponnese to the mainland of Greece, roughly halfway between Athens and Sparta. The modern city of Corinth is located approximately 5 kilometres (3.1 mi) northeast of the ancient ruins. For Christians, Corinth is well known from the two letters of Saint Paul in the New Testament, First and Second Corinthians. Corinth is also mentioned in the Acts of the Apostles as part of Paul the Apostle's missionary travels. In addition, the second book of Pausanias' Description of Greece is devoted to Corinth. Ancient Corinth was one of the largest and most important cities of Greece, with a population of 90,000 in 400 BC. The Romans demolished Corinth in 146 BC, built a new city in its place in 44 BC, and later made it the provincial capital of Greece.

5.00A trip of a lifetime. Trek where St Paul made his mark to the Corinthians. Our trip was made more wonderful by our guide (George) - very accomodating and took us places that made a mark in our memories. Great tour plus great driver equals enjoyable ride to ancient history. Kudos!!

5.00This was one of the best tours I have been on. The driver/guide was extremely knowledgeable of all the history and sites in Greece. The food was amazing and big portions. How can I forget about all the remarkable sites. The guide tailored the tour to our wishes and did not rush us at anytime on the multiple stops.

5.00Do not miss this trip out to the countryside! Mycenae is incredible with the lions gate and Nafplio is great and picturesque! P. S. It is a great place to stay for some days and great to swim! Our driver John was knowledgeable a d polite and friendly. We fully recommend Crispy Local!

5.00What a great experience! Ioannis (who speaks perfect English) picked us up at our hotel in Athens in a quiet Mercedes car (so much better than a tour bus!) The drive through the Greek countryside was relaxing and beautiful. Walking through Mycenae and Nafplion was informative, as both have a long, rich history. Lunch was yummy authentic Greek and very filling. The views from the Fortress of Palamidi were spectacular. We also stopped in Corinth to see the canal and the ancient city. I would definitely recommend this tour!

3.00LOVED our driver - Yiannis! He made the trip fun and enjoyable. This was a substitute for a cruise to three islands that was canceled the day before so we were disappointed to start. The ruins were ruins, once you've seen one, they all start looking the same. Lots of walking and climbing. Not an easy tour if you have difficulty walking or mobility issues. Yiannis did a great job telling us about the countryside and it was beautiful. Recommend if you are just looking for something to do.

Driving to each location, Yannis and I had great conversations both about Greek history and about our lives. It was incredibly enriching and I booked a second tour with Yannis the next day because my experience was so positive.

5.00Enjoyed a wonderful day with John, very interesting and enlightening. Highly recommend. John was very accommodating, gave many tips and assistance with things not directly connected to the trip, but helps you understand how to get about in Greece. The places themselves are fascinating, reflecting the greatness of Ancient Greece, but the highlight was definitely Nafplion - like heaven on earth.
