What To Expect

Corinth Canal

One hour drive away from Athens, in the area of Peloponnese you will be able to find the famous Corinth Canal. The Corinth Canal is a canal that connects the Gulf of Corinth with the Saronic Gulf in the Aegean Sea. It cuts through the narrow Isthmus of Corinth and separates the Peloponnese from the Greek mainland, thus effectively making the former peninsula an island. The canal elevated Piraeus’ status as a major Mediterranean port . A project that spanned many centuries, it was conceived by a ruler of Ancient Corinth, begun by Roman emperor Nero, and completed in the 19th century by the French. Cut through solid rock, the canal is more than 6km long and 23m wide, its vertical sides rising 90m above the water.

We visited Athens for the weekend! We met a very friendly representative in Syntagma square that sold us tickets and explained us everything of the city. We saw all the major sights and we went to the beach. Thank you guys for everything!

Even though Olympia is very far from Athens we decided to go there. The ancient site is splendid and the two museums are very interesting. This trip was wonderful thanks to our « great driver » Costas. Thanks again ! If you are not afraid of the trip duration from Athens, we recommend this trip.

My family had a great day to Olympia and Nafplion. We booked private tour from Sights of Athens and the driver Pavlov is so nice. We enjoy the whole day and the Greece music in the car. Definitely recommend for family tours!
