Every year millions of people travel to Amsterdam to see where the Frank family hid from the Nazis. In this guided tour, we walk part of the route Anne took on her journey to the hiding place.
Travelling back in time to Amsterdam of WWII, we’ll experience Anne’s emotions during the dark days of the war. Using words from her diary, we will learn about Anne's life and the ‘secret annex’.
The tour ends in a cafe where you will have a drink & enter the Secret Annex via the magic of a virtual reality recreation (made by the Anne Frank Foundation). Entering through the bookcase into the hiding place you'll see that unlike the actual house, the VR house has the furniture in place, giving a feel of how it was to live there in 1942-44.
There’s no crowds, you have the virtual house to yourself to explore at your own pace. We believe this is as close to the real thing as you can get, without stepping foot in the house. Ideal for those who can’t get tickets or access to the Annex

I joined the tour at the virtual tour point, skipped the walk around. The vitual tour was poor due to technical issues, remotes not working, batteries were flat and the new ones not working. The tour guide, said she can't do anything but she will inform her "boss". Secondly the coffee served was cold and the restaurant refused to reheat it. Poor service.

Kees was an engaging guide who had some powerful stories to tell. Illuminating and insightful look into Anne Frank’s life. The VR component, in retrospect, was probably better than touring the actual house would have been, and at a more reasonable cost.

Our original tour was canceled by the tour operator. We settled for this one. The guide was knowledgeable and was able to answer or questions. The virtual portion was just okay.

I could get tickets for the Anne Frank - but I think I probably enjoyed this more than I would have enjoyed the real thing! Our guide, David, was really knowledgeable and happy to answer questions. It was good to ground the Fanks's story within the wider geography of the city (e.g. seeing the former prison), and the virtual reality tour was absolutely wonderful!
