Visit the Acropolis and do a panoramic city tour of the Highlights of Athens or enjoy a panoramic drive in the city, seeing the monuments illuminated in the night (depending on the option you will book), before being taken to a Greek traditional tavern for dinner as pre- discussed by yourself and your driver.

What To Expect

Acropolis

Sightseeing in Athens starts driving under the hill of Acropolis. On the historical hill you will have the opportunity to see the Odeon of Herodes Atticus, the Temple of the Athena Nike, the monumental gateway (Propylaea), the Erechtheum and of course the famous Parthenon, the main temple dedicated to the virgin goddess Athena. You will be able to walk around the sacred hill, or if time allows to visit the Acropolis

Propylaea

The Propylaea is the monumental entrances to the sacred area dedicated to Athena, the patron goddess of the city. Built by the architect Mnesicles with Pentelic marble, their design was avant-garde. To the south-west of the Propylaea, on a rampart protecting the main entrance to the Acropolis, is the Ionian temple of Apteros Nike.

Demetrios was professional, kind, down to earth, and an informative driver and guide. He was knowledgeable of Athens, and shared both historical and personal facts about the city of his origin. He created an easy atmosphere which allowed us to ask questions about life in Greece, and also invited us to share about our experiences in our home county. He is a bright young man with an amazing future and we felt honored to have seen Athens through his eyes. The tour was perfect for my 72 yr old mother in law who was able to see the city via car. Getting dropped off and picked up at the base of the acropolis park really helped her to give it all she had for the trek up there. I would absolutely recommend this excursion to elderly people and people with special access needs.

Dimitri’s was fabulous! He was knowledgeable about the history of Athens. He was most accommodating when we asked to see specific sites. He was patient and let us take our time. He is definitely an asset to Viator and we highly recommend the Athens by Night tour.

Panos was professional, courteous, kind and knowledgeable. The vehicle was clean and thankfully, well air conditioned. The 2 highlights of the tour were seeing the changing of the guard and viewing the Acropolis lit at night. Very beautiful monuments. Panos suggested a lovely cafe for our dinner which we very much enjoyed. This was a very relaxing, laid back tour.
