What To Expect

Acropolis

Sightseeing in Athens starts driving under the hill of Acropolis. On the historical hill you will have the opportunity to see the Odeon of Herodes Atticus, the Temple of the Athena Nike, the monumental gateway (Propylaea), the Erechtheum and of course the famous Parthenon, the main temple dedicated to the virgin goddess Athena. You will be able to walk around the sacred hill, or if time allows to visit the Acropolis

Propylaea

The Propylaea is the monumental entrances to the sacred area dedicated to Athena, the patron goddess of the city. Built by the architect Mnesicles with Pentelic marble, their design was avant-garde. To the south-west of the Propylaea, on a rampart protecting the main entrance to the Acropolis, is the Ionian temple of Apteros Nike.

Our tour guide, Pantelis, was amazing, customizing the tour to accommodate photo opportunities and adjust so we didn’t duplicate sights. His knowledge of the region, both historical and current, added a depth to the tour. He went out of his way to make us comfortable, giving us time for pictures and absorbing the local ambiance. At the end of our evening he was quick to offer restaurants in the area and we enjoyed a wonderful traditional dinner to finish off a great experience. I would highly recommend this tour and Pantelis as a guide.

Everything that was promised was delivered and more. I would most specifically want to recommend NIKOS who was our very talented driver cumin guide who was so courteous, knowledgeable and extremely sweet and professional. He made our trip so memorable. We undertook the full day private Athens tour and the night tour of Athens and I cannot emphasise how well Nikos took care of us. I highly recommend them. Keep up and Thank you Nikos.
