Acropolis
The Acropolis of Athens is an ancient citadel located on a rocky outcrop above the city of Athens and contains the remains of several ancient buildings of great architectural and historical significance
Parthenon
The Parthenon is an ancient Greek temple located on the Acropolis of Athens, dedicated to the goddess Athena. Built between 447 and 438 BCE during the Athenian Golden Age, it is considered a masterpiece of classical architecture. The temple is known for its harmonious proportions, Doric design, and iconic columns. It originally housed a massive statue of Athena by Phidias. Though partially damaged over the centuries, the Parthenon symbolizes ancient Greek culture and democracy.

Great tour! Despite extreme heat, our guide was able to find shady spots to give us a needed relief. Orestis was an exceptional guide, knowledgeable, animated, entertaining, passionate. We were so lucky to get him on this tour. We have learned so much about Greek and European history and shared a lot of clever jokes.

A very organized tour. Our guide was Sophia who was pleasant and knowledgeable. She provided enough information to inform, but not overwhelm, us. We started at the Parthenon. The tour does require walking on uneven and rocky grounds. Make sure you bring water because it gets hot at the top. Our tour also included the Museum. We went through it with Sopiha explaining many of the exhibits. Enough info for me, but you can reenter the museum after the tour to see more if you want. We opted for the included lunch and had a wonderful authentic meal at a nearby eatery. Highly recommend this tour! Please be aware that when you sign up for 9:00am tour they want you there by 7:30am. We were emailed this change at 5:00pm the night before but did not see until 9:00pm.
