Not too much walking once it starts. You will not be hungry by the end of the tour. However, if you are not drinking, bring something you prefer if don’t want water. There is just so many foods and experiences packed into the time with funny guides and the occasional random surprise show will make an appearance.

An interesting and fun day out with Alice. Our group was lively and good fun with Dutch, American and of course, Irish people. We had a great time learning a blend of history, cultural facts and shared wonderful food. Well worth the money and a great way to start a trip in Porto! Thank you Alice for your good humour and grace, and best of luck! 🍀

The tour leader,Joǎo,, was exceptional. He brought us to wonderful restaurants, cafes, grocery stores and of course the beautiful Bolhǎo Market where we enjoyed an amazing array of food and drink. He also gave us great insights into Portuguese cuisine and was an informative and witty guide. We loved every minute of the tour and went back the following day to several of the places we had visited to buy some delicious food and drink.

Great way to learn about and sample coffee, food, and wine from Porto with a knowledgeable guide. We couldn’t fit this in until the end of our trip, and it was great. But if you have the opportunity, take it early because the guide also points out other key locations to visit. It’s a good way to get an overview of Porto.

João and Juliana were wonderful guides: friendly, very knowledgeable about Portuguese food, culture, and history, and gave us lots of great tips for places to go and what to order for the rest of our stay in Portugal. The tour itself involved lots of delicious food and wine and felt like great value for the money. It also did not feel at all rushed or like we were on a tight timetable, which I appreciated as it allowed us to be flexible and ask lots of questions as we went. I would highly recommend this tour!

This food tour was absolutely one of the highlights of our time in Porto. João was an outstanding guide—friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about the city and its food culture. The experience gave us access to local vendors and dishes we never would have discovered on our own, and every stop felt authentic and well chosen. The food was excellent, and the stories and background João shared made each tasting even more meaningful. If you want a true local experience and a deeper appreciation for Porto’s food scene, this tour is a must-do. Highly recommend!

Joao was a very knowledgeable and great guide. We learned about the culture and the origin of foods . We had some of the great gems - foods, wine, and authentic restaurants in Porto. We would have never found these places on our own so we really enjoyed our time with Joao. Thank you for a great first day in Porto!!!!
