We send the exact pick-up time by mail the evening before the tour takes place - please confirm reception of message and be ready in advance for pick-up to avoid delays or missing the tour.
Douro Valley's temperature is very high in the summer and cold in the winter. Thus, light clothes in summer and warm clothes in the winter are recommended;
Weather Note: All of our activities happen in covered and protected spaces - we guarantee a safe and comfortable tour despite any weather conditions.
Not recommended for children - if you are bringing children, please inform us in advance, as car seating is mandatory by Portuguese law.
You can also be picked up from a private address other than hotels in Porto downtown area/city center only (Vila Nova de Gaia and Matosinhos cities are outside pick-up limits).
If your address is outside pick-up limits or in an area of difficult access (examples: pedestrian street/narrow street/place with very elevated traffic volume) we will set a meeting point a few minutes away so that you can board our van.
NOTE TO TRAVEL AGENCIES: While we understand that your office may be closed when we send our confirmations due to different timezones if you do not provide the client's direct contact number/email, you are responsible for contacting the client at the time we send the pick-up details (day before the tour takes place, by the end of the day, UNTIL 23:00 PM, PORTUGAL TIME) - Travel Agencies assume responsibility if the client does not show up due to the lack of communication between them.
Cancellation Policy
For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure time.
What To Expect
Porto
Start the tour at your hotel or accommodation in Porto Downtown. Note: your address needs to be provided at booking or a few days before the tour takes place or a meeting point will be set. - PICK-UP IS EXCLUSIVE TO THE PORTO DOWNTOWN AREA. We DO NOT offer pick-up from Vila Nova de Gaia, Matosinhos, the Porto coastal area, or other locations outside the city center.
Peso Da Regua
Whenever possible we stop at the city of Peso da Régua, an historical city of the Douro Valley associated with the commerce of wine. Here we provide our guests a brief explanation about the city and allow some free time for a coffee and pictures.

5.00Excellent day, with Pedro providing a very informative introduction to the Douro valley, and ensuring we were all looked after safely and well. Having a small group of eight was great; and the wineries we visited were interesting and the port enjoyable. We learnt lots of useful things. Pedro has plenty of experience and energy, and nothing was too much trouble. We enjoyed a fun day!

5.00Great tour with Pedro, a fun, very knowledgeable guide who was brimming with energy, enthusiasm and full of interesting and helpful information. The wineries visited were smaller, independent family-run operators which was particularly interesting for us. We were able to taste several good wines and ports. The rover cruise was also enjoyable and lunch was tasty. All in all it was a very enjoyable day and we felt we had chosen very well! It was also worthwhile to be in a small group of 8 rather than in a large group on a coach.

5.00We had a wonderful day with our family (three teens). They had never been to a winery - and this was the perfect first experience for them! We all enjoyed seeing the beautiful countryside, eating the delicious local pastries and lunch, and trying the wines from small wineries who put so much love and care into their tours and products. Pedro was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly - and definitely made our day!

5.00Be prepared to taste a lot of wine! What you cannot prepared for are the views and the beauty of the Douro valley. Luis, our guide made the day. He knows the history of the region, so we could take in the scenery and understand learn at the same time. He was also so fun and made the day one of the most special days here in Portugal.

5.00Best Day! Ricardo Laverco made this day a wonderful experience. He was not only an amazing guide, but a skilled driver on the uphill, downhill, narrow and high elevation Duoro Valley streets. Amarante stop was a great treat as well. He was knowledgeable on all things wine and it was great to hear him speak enthusiastically about the wines. Scrumptious lunch and relaxing cruise. The wineries were good and wine delicious. The scenery one has to see to believe. Overall a day to write home about. Obrigada Ricardo! Fantastic! Also have to say that Ricardo was attentive and polite, and that is not something you forget on a tour. So glad we did a small group tour, instead of a large group.
