This tour takes you to Aveiro considered by many as the "Venice of Portugal" which is famous for its large network of canals running through the city. In this Tour you will also take a cruise on a "moliceiro" boat (a traditional boat from this city) which will take you along the channels as you admire the city’s unique tile facades. You will also have the opportunity to see the colorful houses in Costa Nova. Aveiro has a rich and varied gastronomy, and the “soft eggs” - a very sweet desert are also one the main representations of Aveiro.

The capital of the Ria, a vast lagoon where the freshwater of the River Vouga joins with the sea, Aveiro is intersected by canals, genuine streets of water, along which can be seen gliding the brightly coloured boats known as barcos moliceiros. Originally founded in the time of the Roman Emperor Marcus Aurelius, Aveiro is now one of the most interesting cities on the Portuguese coast. Discover the history of this beautiful city and tasty the traditional pastry, "Ovos Moles".

Gorgeous— wish we had a little more time in both places to meander. It was a nice introduction to the area !

We had a wonderful time! Stress free comfortable bus ride to Aveiro and a lovely boat ride down the canal. We had about half an hour to walk around the town before boarding the bus for costa nova. We had about 20 minutes to walk around there. Our guide was great. Very personable and knowledgeable and gave us some history and answered all our questions. The price was great too. Would highly recommend if you want to check out Aveiro with no hassle. I would've liked a little more time to walk around, but it was a fun tour

Unfortunately, I cannot rate this experience highly. The guide spoke in both English and Spanish but far more Spanish than English and for extended periods at a time. By the time we heard it in English, we were beyond whatever he was pointing out. Also, the stop in Costa Nova was basically a waste of time...we had time to walk to the beach and back. Most of the stores were closed, which would have been nice to know. Similarly, the Aveiro stop was disappointing. The "boats" take you up a canal (by motor), turn around and come back. I think we did 3 different canals, up and back. The canals are located on the edge of town so you never really get to see the town. We had a little free time and walked a bit of a distance to some small shops and cafes before it was time to walk all the way back to the van. Finally, because it was rush hour when we returned, we were let off at a different location from where we left. Fortunately, we had someone with us who could steer us back to the hotel which turned out to be quite a ways away. All of us agreed that we would not recommend this tour.

It was excellent, the tour had all the cultural and related information The guide Anabela was super requested, I recommend going with her, where she was very helpful beyond the knowledge.

Cute little half day day trip out of Porto. Just what I wanted to fill the gaps for my trip to Porto for five days.

Fabulous tour with Annabell. She was very knowledgeable in the history of the area. Enough time to explore on our own, and enough guided time to learn about Aveiro and Costa Nova. The canal boat trip was a highlight!

This is a nice excursion. It was nice to see some Portugal countryside while riding on the bus. The boat ride in Aveiro was quaint. Our guide on the boat was informative and engaging. We really enjoyed Costa Nova because of its' charm. The time spent at each location was good.

The tour was great and Franco did a great job explaining everything in Spanish and in English he was very friendly. The boat in Aveiro was great also and the guy who did the tour was so funny. We have a good time. We recommend this tour to everyone who goes to Porto.
