We had booked a cruise around Asia And was looking for something to do whilst we were staying in Beijing for s few days, checked out trip advisor, like we all do, and found this great trip which was a great price. We meet out guide at our hotel which had been confirmed the day before. The Great wall has been on bucket for a few years, but we have done it also the Ming tombs and a traditional tea ceremony. Would book with Viator again

I liked the Tombs and the Great Wall but definitely not the Jade shop. Total waste of time. I wished I had stayed longer on the wall instead of having the mandatory shopping stops...

The walls, the tombs and the day tour in Beijing are places we will never forget. The history of mankind in action. Take your time for access because the trafic is very intense.

Very nice trip. And very cheap! 1 h visiting Ming Tombs, 1 h Jade Factory, 2 h at the Great Wall. About 12 h in total. Very nice and talkative guide. Only the essential information about China and the sites we visited.

Excellent, full day. The Badaling section was not crowded and awesome. The Ming Tomb part was also very good. Included lunch was fine, next door to Jade Factory (really a jade market). The afternoon tea tasting was also very fun. The vendors do try to market the products at the jade market and tea stop, but overall an excellent value for a full day tour!

Definitely one of the best tours we have ever been on.To start with the cost was unbelievably low for such a full day.Our tour guide collected us just before 7 as it was a public holiday and the roads would be packed. We enjoyed the Ming tombs and the guide was very interesting and knowledgeable. At the Jade factory you were not pressurized into buying any of the products and the lunch that was provided was excellent. Additional cost is needed at the Great Wall for the cable car as its very steep!
The tea ceremony was lovely and we returned to our hotel by 6pm. Highly recommend this trip. Unfortunately I cannot remember the guides name but she was excellent.

Having read the previous review, my expectations were low, especially as we had booked it for the first day of a 3 day Chinese holiday. I think there were 11 of us which helped as it meant that there weren't many pickups. We were picked up at 6.45 (First on) and headed for the tombs. There was a second bus doing the same trip and they quickly lost time compared to us. We found the Ming tombs interesting (many tourist spots just consist of empty buildings). Then on to the jade place, which didn't use any high pressure selling techniques on us tourists. By this time the second bus was more than an hour behind us as the holiday traffic was getting pretty intense. On to the great wall. We thought that the cable car was an option for the non fit, but getting there we could see that the climb to the wall was only for the trained athlete! I think we were given an hour on the wall which was more than enough as it resembled a post Christmas sale. Not helped by everyone, including us, stopping continually for selfies! After that it was back on the coach for the tea place, I think we left the wall by 3.30. The second coach crowd, by this time, Had started queuing for the cable car. When we got to the tea place, the second coach were still queuing for the cable car! Found the tea tasting interesting and back at the hotel by 6.30. We thought that it was good value. Oh, nearly forgot, the lunch at the jade factory was excellent! The second coach by this time had decided to skip the tea place and were expected back in Beijing by 9.30 to 10. Quite impressed and the guide was excellent!

I was picked up at 6:45am and then we spent the next two hours driving Beijing morning traffic picking up other participants. On the way to Ming Tombs it became apparent that the road going into that area was backed up with tour buses, so we did a detour around it. I cannot say that the particular Ming tomb we visited was all that impressive compared to other historical venues around Beijing, it was just a slow walk through 2 large buildings—The tour of the Tomb we saw took less than one hour and then back on the bus. Then to a high-pressure Jade Factory “tour” co-located with our restaurant for lunch. Badaling Great Wall was another 90 minutes or so through traffic. There was a section of the wall closer and more accessible, but that was not Badaling. When we arrived it had started to snow. We had not been previously informed, but there was a 180 CNY tramway charge for actually getting up to the Wall—It was too steep to actually walk up there. It was unbelievably cold with the wind chill (15F?) along the ridge line once we got up to the wall. Having some advance notice that we needed to be prepared for such cold weather up top would have been appreciated. The wall stones were also very slippery to walk on with the icy snow, so many folks came right back down. The vendors at this location were difficult, but our guide left us to deal with them on our own. After about an hour return through Beijing traffic jams, we thought we were done but not so. There was a tea “tour” to do as our final stop, which I think surprised most of us given that it was so close to dinner time. The tea presentation took some time before it started, but it was interesting and a number of us made purchases. By the time we started dropping off participants it was close to 8pm. Our friendly tour guide, well he got dropped off in Beijing before most of us did—lucky him! I finally was let off near my hotel at 9:30pm—an unexpected 15-hour day. This China Highlights tour was very memorable in that we dealt with a Spring snowstorm up on the Badaling Great Wall, but it sure went a lot longer than expected, given what I had read on their website. Made some great acquaintances on this tour, but that was mainly due to us surviving and enduring it all together!

Good value for money. Tour guide talks like a native English speaker. Just be mindful of the side trip commercial establishments which entice you to spend more than you planned for.

We were a bit rushed and the guide's English was not great - would have liked more time at the Wall and less in the Jade shop and Tea shop!!
