Liyuan Theatre

Appreciate a national quintessence of Peking Opera at Li Yuan Theater. It is short, succinct and easy to understand, you can watch the peking opera masters painting facial masks, different facial colors represent different characters. One minute on stage act, ten years off stage practice, a decade of exquisite acting will bring you an unparalleled feeling. At the same time enjoy a variety of court snacks, tea, and experience the true charming of Beijing opera. On tour day evening, your friendly driver will pick you up from your hotel lobby at 6:30pm and heading to the theatre. Upon arriving, driver will assist get the tickets for you and meet you at the theatre lobby when the show is finished, then transfer you back to your hotel at the end. Show timing: 7:30pm -- 8:30pm

FABULOUS EVENING AND REALLY WELL ORGANIZED AND FIRENDLY ! it was beautiful. Actors are talented,and wonderful introduction to peking opera, it was mesmerizing, and great seats with great snacks. totally recommend to anybody visiting beijing ! Don't forget mention the door to door service, with great driver and luxurious car !

Five plus rating for this amazing experience ! The show was stunning , the actors simply amazing! The set up - sitting at the table having a tea and snacks while enjoying two shows - traditional opera and more modern take on the traditional mythical story! We loved both stories so much! Our guide Cathy was the most wonderful , fun and bubbly, with excellent knowledge of English and history of the opera : ) She took the most wonderful care of us , found us the best table, and made sure we had the most wonderful experience at the opera! Highly recommend , five stars plus! 🥰

Very smooth “introductory experience” to Beijing opera. The theater is located in the center of the city, a few blocks South from the Tiananmen square. Driver picked us up from hotel exactly at the arranged time and drove us to the theater and back to hotel. We had front row seats ant the table with the tea. The show consists of 3 short plays, good way to get experience with Beijing opera style. Acting was amazing and they had subtitles running in English, which helped a lot. Overall, very pleasant and unique experience for a couple (like us) or for a small group of friends.

Kathy is the best and most professional Tourist Guide we’ve ever met. Thank you for such a great time! My family and I enjoyed the PEKIN OPERA to the last minute. Thank you for the table which was located right on front of the Stage and those snacks were delicious! Thank you so much for such experience I will definitely find you next time we come back to Beijing

Kathy was the BEST!! Overall, the experience was so fun: transportation was clean and we learned so much about the opera on the ride from our hotel, and Kathy made sure we had the best view in the front row. The show itself was such a unique experience, we really loved the costumes and makeup and storytelling. The different acrobatics and the vocal abilities of the actors were so impressive! It was easy to understand and we were happy to have some delicious little treats available at our table. I especially liked the Jasmine tea provided. I would absolutely recommend this experience for anyone traveling to Beijing!!
Once in a lifetime experience I will never forget!

This was such an amazing experience! Our driver was on time to pick us up and I was constantly in communication with the provider of the service. When we arrived, we had a variety of snacks and drinks to choose from. As for the performance, it was a one of a kind experience that transported me back in time. The costumes, music, and the actors were incredible. I truly recommend this experience if you are visiting Beijing!

Our guide Kathy had a wonderful positive bubbly attitude. She was able to answer any questions we had and explained about the opera before hand. She was great. Transfer service was smooth and the snacks provided at the show were nice. It is good to know that the show itself is more one scene snippets of full length shows, to get a sense of the style.

Fantastic Peking Opera performance. Stage actors were acrobatic and costumes outstanding. Two different stories, and the first one was a classic Chinese story. Ask for Cathy as your guide. She is bubbly and energetic. Made the night memorable.
