What To Expect

Beijing to Shanghai bullet train trip is around 5.5 hours, please advise your preferred Shanghai trip schedule upon booking with your full name and passport number (must match with your passport). Once the booking is made, your local operator will re-confirm with your train ticket schedule and hotel pick up time. Your friendly private driver will pick you up at your hotel lobby and hand you the actual train ticket on the travel date. Your driver only knows basic English, but he/she knows exactly where to take you to go. If any questions, you can contact the local operator for assistance by using the driver's mobile phone. Please note that the train ticket schedule might not be exactly the same as you request but your ticket agent will try the best to work things out for you. Tour operator Cathy is an asset for the company. From when I booked she communicated with me, assured me the train will be booked once the tickets were available. Even through our messages she sounded so lovely that I asked if she'd be with me and the driver for my pick up from the hotel to the train. She said she wouldn't be. I asked her to arrange a driver to pick me up when I got to the station. The driver was there to greet me. Even though he didn't speak much English Young introduced himself to me. Offered to take my bags. We got lost trying to find my courtyard accomodation. He was in good spirits and a courteous man. He was also my driver for the bullet train booking. Cathy provides the details from your Electronic booking with an English translation. She also gives you instructions for once you're at the train station. I was very lucky to meet Cathy, she's amazing, such a sweetheart, I can't wait to return to Beijing to see her. Nothing is a hassle for Cathy you just need to ask. Cathy also has other tours. She goes above and beyond. Her English is great and she has a lovely sense of humour. Thank you so much for everything Cathy.

Driver came in time but he cannot speak English. He dropped me at the Railway station and left. I have lots of problems to know the platform from where my train will depart for Shanghai. There was lots of language barriers. But staff was helpful and at last I managed to catch up my train. There was no food for vegetarians in the train.
