Nice hike on a gravel trail to an area at the lake with picnic tables. To hike further to the falls is on an ankle breaker trail.

We had an amazing experience on this excursion! We came in September and the weather was not ideal as it rains everyday, but even with rain, the tour was amazing! Both Sam and the driver were super friendly and extremely knowledgeable about Bergen. Sam did a terrific job explaining history of Norway and many interesting pieces of information along the way.

I was afraid it would be too long of a trip, but with tour guide talking almost the whole time, the time flew by. Alexa and Johnathan were amazing!

We went on this full day experience and it exceeded our expectations. Our tour guide, Froven, was warm, informative and funny. He kept the long bus trip entertaining with stories about Norway and himself. The sights were amazing. We made many stops along the way to and from our hike at a couple waterfalls and overlooks that were amazingly scenic, so it was never boring. Our weather was beautiful and once we got to our hike, it was magical. Froven gave us the perfect amount of time to head to the lake at our own leisure. We had a few hours to enjoy the scenery and hike and picnic by the gorgeous crystal clear blue lake under a glacier. Highly recommend this day trip to get off the beaten path and learn so much about Norway. A few tips to know-there were chargers on the bus to charge your phone as well as a tiny bathroom; bring your own snacks/lunch, but also the bus stopped at a few places to pick up snacks if you forgot some (ferry ride; at the waterfall stop which had food/coffee; as well as bathrooms at all the stops). The hike itself is paved and easily accessible to most people and you are given a lot of time to go as slow or fast as you'd like.
