  We didn't see the opening of the floating market because we would have to start about 4:30am and the floating market is mostly for buyers of large quantities. We went there later after being taken to the local morning street market in Can Tho where the local people go. It was much more colorful with live seafood, fruits, vegetables and flowers. We then went to the floating market, which was interesting but not a lot of activity (perhaps because we weren't there when they first open) other than other tourist boats and some smaller boats approaching to sell us their few fruits and drinks. Visiting the islands, Pagoda and seeing how some foods were made were interesting. It was an enjoyable 2 day trip overall.

  The first day is very good. Lots of interesting sights & activities. The Guide was pretty good, keen to let us know about the itinerary and point out interesting landmarks etc on the way down, however he talked to us for about an hour & was standing up facing us. It would have been better if he'd been sitting down so we could listen more comfortably, and broken it down into say 20 min bursts. We would have liked longer at the Pagoda as it was quite rushed and there's lots to see. The boat trips were lovely, although we felt uncomfortable at being expected to tip the sampan rower, they were quite forceful! Lunch was very good and we were constantly offered snacks and drinks which we liked! The hotel was very good, 3k from the town, but this was reachable by taxi . The 2nd day was very disappointing. We were supposed to start at 6am as the floating market "is most vibrant" then (according to the itinerary) & then come back to the hotel for breakfast. This was changed to having breakfast far too early at 6.30, checking out of the hotel and being collected at 7am. The floating market was non existent, there was literally no "hustle and bustle" that we were expecting, we saw no activity, just approached by a couple of boats who wanted us to buy juice and food which was encouraged by the guide. We'd only just had breakfast and it was not in any way authentic. The visit to the market was ok, particularly seeing the fish and meat but it was very quiet and not in any way "bustling" we went to much better one in Ho Chi Min. We enjoyed making the pancakes for lunch but again 11am was far too early, but the food was lovely and plentiful & the bike ride was quite pleasant We arrived back about 2 hours before the itinerary suggested. So it would be better if this was just a day and focused on the Mekong Delta and associated activities and sights rather than the Floating Markets or stick to the advertised itinerary if this would have given us a better opportunity to experience it

  This was a fun, varied and informative two days. We enjoyed every minute. Vinh was the perfect guide who made sure that the group of 16 were all individually happy and looked after. It was a great insight into the culture of Vietnam. Vinh even explained about the pronunciation of some key phrases. Great value for money as we did so much.

  This was such a wonderful experience and Kia our tour guide was excellent, it will be a trip we’ll never forget, well worth doing
