Cuandixia Village
It is located on ancient post road roughly 55 miles northwest from central Beijing in the Jingxi mountain region. On the way to the village you will enjoy the beautiful mountain and countryside scenery. Cuandixia Village contains around 70 courtyard homes, which gently climb the slopes of a mountain, built by a family who migrated from Shanxi province more than 400 years ago. During the Ming and Qing dynasties, the road that led through the mountains to the provinces of Hebei and Shanxi acted as a trade and passageway. The residents of Cuandixia would open their doors to travelers and serve the passing trade. Over time, the village became forgotten as expressways and train tracks changed the route to the west . Lunch ( Own expense ) in the Local Family restaurant, you will enjoy an authentic countryside style food .

Apart from seeing the many sovereign splendour monuments in Beijing, visiting Cuandixia Village is a great off the beaten track activity to experience the livelihood of ordinary folks living in an uniquely beautiful natural habitat. The village is small with a couple of hundred families residents inherited from ancestors from the Ming dynasty, enveloped by a surrounding naturally sculptured high mountain range with patches of human carved over the ages terraced planting fields providing food for the village and also when married with the varied green surrounding natural vegetation provides a serene and isolated setting of a scenic background to a hidden old village set in a valley. Furthermore, after reaching the outskirt of Beijing and on entering the mountain range area towards the village there are scenic vista of mountain scenes enroute.
