This is one of the best excursions I have ever taken! The reasons for this statement are numerous. The tour guide, Barry, was courteous, professional, and knowledgeable. He made us feel well taken care of for the entire day. He had been in contact with me several times prior to date of the tour to find out about our interests and preferences. The day itself was cold & rainy due to storm Amy. We were not sure of the impact the weather might have on our day. However, by the time Barry picked us up at the cruise terminal (right on time by the way), he had carefully thought through any limitations that could be a factor due to the inclement weather. Logistics were arranged accordingly. He came to pick us up in a clean, beautiful car. He provided locally made toffee candies, bottled water, and umbrellas. From the moment we met, we knew that we were in for a special experience. We visited so many places (too numerous to mention, really). My favorites were the Inveraray Castle, especially the elaborate gardens; the beautiful little church in Luss where we learned about the history of the town from a clergyman; Loch Lomond; the cafe in Duck Bay, where my husband and I shared a delicious and reasonably- priced 3 course lunch; and the downtown area with all of the ornate ancient architecture and the Necropolis. As the day progressed, Barry showed us various other areas and provided the history along with interesting stories. He was so engaging and had such a great sense of humor - a total delight!! His driving was amazing & as we parted ways, I felt we had made a new friend. I recommend this unforgettable tour and Barry with no reservations-you’ll not be sorry!

This is a very customizable experience. Berry was our driver and he arranged things on the spot for us to do and gave us a lot of local and historical information. He was very outgoing and easy to find at every location. He met us at the port in Glasgow and gave us excellent recommendations. We had a wonderful day.

Barry was exceptional, and this tour was the best of our two-week trip to the UK. I would not hesitate to hire Barry again for any tour he offers. He is polite, knowledgeable, and a consummate gentleman. His car was comfy, clean, and stocked with drinks and snacks. He tailored the day to our preferences and kept in mind the needs of our 11-year-old and my mother. Conversations flowed easily, and we learned a lot from his stories and from his answers to our questions. He got us back to our cruise ship on time despite a FULL day touring the countryside. In short, this was The Perfect Tour.

Barry was amazing! Not only could we customize our itinerary, he was flexible with changing things the day of due to an injury that occurred just the day before.

I highly recommend this tour/excursion Barry with CathBarr to anyone visiting this area. We were in Port at Greenock from about 10 am to 7 pm. Barry worked with me directly a few months before our visit to plan everything including travel times and entry times. We stopped at Glasgow Cathedral on our way to Stirling where we visited The National Wallace Monument first. Then a quick drive to Duone to visit Duone Castle and tour the Deanston Distillery (highly recommend both of these stops as well). On our way back through Stirling made a stop at Stirling Castle for the last 90 minutes of our day before making our way back to the cruise ship. Barry even fit in a bakery stop so I could try a few Scottish pasties including a YumYum! Barry was personable, knowledgeable, and genuinely interested in making sure we had the best day in Scotland. I can't imagine a better day!

Great day seeing Stirling castle, Wallace Monument and the Battle of Bannockburn. Barry was so great and helpful. We traveled with our parents who are mobility challenged and Barry was so accommodating helping us get the walkers in and our of his car dozens of times. He made sure he got them as close to entrances as possible to minimize their walking. He was a great conversationalist and made our day!!! Highly recommend.

Barry provided our family group with a great day seeing many sights of Glasgow and the surrounds. It was a rainy day so he was thoughtful and took us to see outdoor places before the rain had started. We were able to spend as much time as needed to enjoy the sights. We would highly recommend Private Day tours. We would not have seen as much of Glasgow on a bus tour with limited time. Thanks again from our family group.

We had such a fun time in Scotland thanks to Barry. He knows a lot about Scotland and its history. And what he doesn't know, he just makes up. :) Our tour of the museum, Stirling Castle, Loch Lomond, and Glasgow cathedral were wonderful. My whole family highly recommends Barry.
