A fairly long drive but interesting scenery along the road. Excellent driver and very comfortable mini bus. Museum is very good and archaeological site will worth the trip. Excellent guides in Stephanie and Georgia.

Travel by bus, hostess Stephanie was excellent. 2:30 hours each way to Delphi. Pit stop and photo shoot stop on the way was good. Effi guided the museum tour at the Delphi archeological site. Lots of good information about the oracle and the surrounding recovery digging. Nice lunch at a typical taverna at Delphi-new city. Tour director went out of the way to pick us up at a house, rather than us traveling to a remote hotel. Extra points!!!!

If you have the day, Delphi is definitely worthwhile. The amount of history there is crazy. As others have noted, it's a long drive, but van was very comfortable and our guide, Danae, was very friendly and provided a lot of helpful information. She was cheerful and fun and kept the group in great spirits. On-site we had a guide for the museum and grounds. The museum was quite crowded, but once we walked over to the site things were much more quiet. The history and views were fantastic. Lastly, we had a great lunch overlooking the valley. All in all, a fun day!

Our tour with Athena and Georgia was fantastic! Athena filled the 2.5 hour drive to Delphi with lots of facts about Greek society, myths, and culture and answered our many questions. She was the best guide we’ve had in Greece, hands down. Georgia was also wonderful guide at Delphi (our time with her was shorter) and we enjoyed the ruins and museum, which is impressive, especially the Temple of Apollo. The Tholos of Athena Pronaia wasn’t open when we went because of construction to protect the site from falling rocks (you can still see it at a distance) but the rest of the site is open. Plan to hike to the top of the site to see the stadium ruins which are well worth it, also for the views. Our only critique would be that the “small group” was a bit bigger than expected, and we would have enjoyed the opportunity to sit by ourselves, not the full group for lunch, but we understand other travelers like that experience. Plan for 3-3.5 hours drive back to Athens instead of 2.5 because of evening traffic.

Getaway Greece indicated our party would be picked up at our hotel until 30 minutes before the tour started. Even though the alternative pick up area was a 5 minute walk from our hotel it was impossible for us to get there with a 30 minute notice. We attempted to email and call the tour company but there was no response until later in the day. I feel this was unprofessional and inconsiderate. I have requested a full refund.
