Topher was a great guide and the food was yummy and plentiful. I realized when I got home and told people about my trip that I learned more interesting facts, non-food related, from him than I did on my previous all-day Shanghai tour!

We went on this tour last week with Logan. She was a great guide - full of interesting and informative information about the food and the places we walked through. We got to see places, see food being prepared and eat food we wouldn't otherwise have seen or eaten. The food tastings were fabulous - very varied and all tasty. The tour gave us the confidence to identify and order the same food during the rest of our time in Shanghai. We waddled away at the end of the tour nursing our very full bellies. I highly recommend this tour - it is a great and very filling way to spend a morning.

This tour was excellent and I'm so glad we did it! We went to several places and there was a lot of food to try. All the food was excellent and there was a good variety of food. We had noodles, dumpling, soup dumplings, jianbing which is a Chinese breakfast crepe, and egg tarts. We were able to see people making the food in most of the places that we visited. The tour guide was very knowledgeable about the food and about Shanghai. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to try local food in Shanghai.

It's worth dragging yourself out of bed at 7am to savour dumplings in brooth and all that follows. If you are staying in or near the French Concession this is a must-do tour. It gives you the confidence to take on the daunting prospect of ordering from a local food place with only Chinese language menus. My guide was Maggie and she was full of enthusiasm for the food and for SHanghai.
