Set out to a private sunset day trip to Cape Sounion. Our trip starts with a wonderful drive along the Athens Rivera. During this relaxing ride you’ll enjoy splendid views of the Saronic Gulf while passing through some of Athens’ most beautiful suburbs, including Glyfada, Vouliagmeni, and Varkiza. Arriving at the Cape Sounion, you will visit the 5th century B.C. Temple of Poseidon with its magnificent panoramic view of the Aegean Sea (on a clear day you can see several islands). Cape Sounion has long played an important part in Greek mythology and history, and the first recorded mention of it occurs in the Odyssey, as the last safe landing before Poseidon scattered the returning Greek navy. As god of the sea, Poseidon was very important for ancient Greeks, and the scale of the Temple at Cape Sounion reflects that. After visiting the Temple, filled from the beauty, the history and the culture of this site you are set to admire one of the most amazing sunsets you could ever imagine. Similarly, when the sun begins to slowly touch the sea it is the perfect moment for a glass of wine, before having your dinner in a scenic, nearby seafront tavern. The Mercedes vehicle was spotless, comfortable, and stocked with everything we could’ve needed for the journey. Giorgos made every moment feel personal, from his insightful conversation about Greek history and culture to his quiet attention to detail that made the drive so relaxing. 5.00Watching the sunset at the temple of Poseidon was amazing. Socrates was our driver. He was very friendly and provided excellent service. He picked us up promptly and pointed out sites along the way on the drive to the temple. On the way back, we stopped for the included dinner. My family had seafood, salad, bread, drinks and ice cream treats that were all included in the price of the tour. Everything was fantastic from start to finish for our first night in Athens. Thank you so much!

5.00Theo was a fantastic guide for our evening! He was very communicative prior to the tour to ensure a very smooth pick up. He gave us great tips on the best places in the area for food and drinks, he knew all the great photo stops along the coast and let us stop, take pictures and was a photographer for us as well! He had excellent stories and a wealth of knowledge for history in the area. He timed it perfect for us to catch the sunset from Poseidon’s temple. The restaurant he picked for us was phenomenal. The staff treated us with excellent service and some of the best sea food we’ve ever had. Highly recommend this excursion!

5.00We all had an awesome time driving to the temple of Poseidon. Our driver/tour guide was very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. We had an amazing time. Also, afterwards we stopped at a local Greek restaurant and had a delicious fish/seafood dinner.

Our driver respectfully asked for an earlier pick up as it would suit our tour goals better. This was very thoughtful. Our driver (Theo) was thoughtful and considerate, often going the extra mile to point out things and show us other landmarks. He was a wealth of information and local knowledge. His pride in his country and his job was clearly evident. It is clear that this company and its employees value the client. We were pleasantly surprised by the farewell gift - thank you. 5.00Theo was the best guide! Traffic getting out of Athens was terrible and he was very creative and selecting different routes to get us to the sunset in time. He took some beautiful pictures of us as a couple. The sunset view at Poseidon‘s Temple is breathtaking. Theo suggested a couple different restaurant options and the one we selected did not disappoint! It was amazing authentic Greek food, and it felt like we were sitting right on top of the water. Another beautiful view! It was a wonderful experience and I could not recommend this highly enough. And it’s an excellent price for a private tour like this. Be sure to tip him well! And enjoy!

5.00This was a fantastic experience! Our driver, Theo, was very informative throughout the afternoon, had great suggestions, and in general very fun to spend time with on this tour. We went to a charming seaside restaurant ( 4 Brothers) with beautiful water views for an early dinner before heading to the temple for sunset views. Prior to our trip, we had many questions about logistics and scheduling for this tour, Ioannis answered all of our questions promptly and patiently. We wanted to eat before going to the temple rather than after; customizing the itinerary to accommodate this was no problem. We really couldn't have asked for a better experience with Crispy Local from start to finish. I highly recommend this company, and in particular our driver Theo, if you are looking for a tour company in Greece.
