Julie and George were early to meet us and we were a group of 4. We started off our tour with Julie and George at a local neighborhood coffe/bake shop where we tried Greek coffee and pastries. Julie was a very knowledgeable tour guide and was not only witty but took us to small family run businesses. George was often up ahead on the tour letting them know we were on our way. We toured many local businesses and had samples of tea, olives, honey along with learning of many traditions in Greek cooking. Lunch was a wonderful experience with homemade tzatziki and other local Greek foods along with a glass of wine. We were in a small area of a restaurant that was quite lovely and air conditioned. We felt like they were our long lost friends. Julie and George sent us an email after our walking food tour with them and made a few more suggestions of what to see in Athens. They also included information of how to get in touch with them if we neeed assistance for anything. I would give this tour a 10 out of 10. It was a great way to see the neighborhood where the real people of Athens shop and eat!

Julia & Douk were amazing hosts, very knowledgeable. The olive selection in the market was next level, we tried olives we didn’t even know existed. Spice shop was an eye opener I had no idea the Greek people used so many. Honey shop was well worth a visit and we returned to purchase the pistachio cream, which was out of this world. The tour ended with a sample of Greek food which we will be recreating at home. Definitely worth the money.
