On our Highland Lochs, Glens & Castles tour from Edinburgh we will take you to some of the best scenery Scotland has to offer. Majestic mountains tumble down to shimmering lochs and castles, while glens tell tragic tales of centuries gone by.
You will have the opportunity to visit a castle or two and we’ll also have the chance to get some photos of castle ruins. We visit the picturesque highland village of Luss which sits on the bonnie banks of Loch Lomond with views to Ben Lomond, Scotland’s most southerly Munro.

What To Expect
Stirling Castle
We’ll pass Stirling Castle, great royal residence of Stuart Kings and Mary Queen of Scots who acceded to the throne in 1542 when she was only 6 days old.
Doune Castle
Our first stop will be at Doune Castle, a magnificent late 14th century stronghold. The castle stood in for Winterfell in Game of Thrones and Castle Leoch in Outlander. It also starred as Swamp Castle, Castle Anthrax and Camelot in the cult comedy movie Monty Python and the Holy Grail. You will have time to visit the Castle.

5.00Jamie, our guide, was fantastic! He had an impressive amount of knowledge on everything we passed by on BOTH sides of the road. He was personable, professional (but fun), and kept the energy up the entire trip. The only negative part of our journey was reaching the end. Thank you Jamie. 5.00We had such a great time on this tour! Our guide and driver, Jamie, was wonderful. He was knowledgeable, funny, and really went above and beyond to make sure everyone had a good time. He shared a lot of interesting facts, had us laughing a bit, and made the whole day run smoothly. The stops were well planned, and we never felt rushed. The highlands were beautiful. The stops were perfectly timed and each one provided a different perspective. Would definitely recommend this tour. If you get Jamie as your guide, you’re in for a great day! We arrived at the tour early. Two other tour guides were waiting to drive away for their tours. Both were just as friendly as Jaime. No doubt any of their tours would be great.

5.00The Scottish Highlands, Lochs, Glens and Castles from Edinburgh was an amazing trip that my daughter and I will always remember. We had an excellent tour guide named Kyle. He personally got to know each passenger on the coach, making a personal connection, learning our names and where we were from. He was funny and informative, and made the tour an outstanding one filled with fun. Of all the tours we took on our trip to the UK, Kyle was by far the best. The highlands, lochs and glens were stunning, and the castles were spectacular. I would highly recommend this trip! One of the other really nice things about this trip was the bus was a smaller coach instead of a full size double decker bus. With fewer people at the attraction it was less crowded so we could enjoy it more fully.

5.00The tour was the best investment in our Scotland Experience! Travelling with my mum, we both agree that it was amazing seeing such breathtaking autumn colours! We had all the luck in the world with the weather as well…but most importantly Gary S, our tourguide was just THE BEST! Effortlessly telling us historical and fun facts about Scottish history, it‘s main characters and general interesting knowledge we otherwise would have never stumbled across. He took amazing care of us, being very clear about next stops and the timing, answering questions from our group and sharing his personal experiences and stories of being born and raised in this beautiful region. It couldn’t have been better!

5.00We had a lovely day on our tour through the Highlands! We lucked out with a gorgeous, sunny October day making our day even better! Our driver and guide, Kyle, was friendly, knowledgeable, and entertaining. The pick-up and drop off times and location were very convenient for our schedule. The stops included on the tour gave us plenty of opportunities to explore castles and the breathtaking views. The tour fee doesn’t include entry to any of the castles, which gave us flexibility to decide which ones we wanted to visit. Our driver encouraged us to purchase tickets enroute for Doune Castle as heritage organization now limits visitors. We had a great lunch at The George Hotel during our stop in Inverary. We opted for a nice lunch and stroll through the village rather than walking up to the castle. The views of Loch Lomond at our final stop were stunning. Great day!

5.00Wow, we saw many, many fabulous sites on this tour with Gary S! It was an extremely long day and we are grateful we were able to see so much of the West Highlands with plenty of stops. In Inverary, we had a sit-down lunch at The George Hotel, which was wonderful (fresh caught diver scallops and langosintos from Loch Fyne). There is no way we would have been able to cover so much ground and see so many places without this guided tour - and Gary driving us around in a skillful and informative manner!
