For this full day tour, we will visit three incredible places that are completely unique to this area. As well as learning more about Costa Rican coffee, we will visit Poás Volcano, one of only seven active volcanoes in the country. We will then see over 100 species including rescued sloths and hummingbirds in the La Paz Waterfall Gardens. This is my favourite trip in the San Jose area, providing you with a great combination of picturesque scenery and the chance to get up close to many species found in Costa Rica.

This tour was our first full day in Costa Rica and it was a wonderful start. Olman and Rachel utilized WhatsApp for communication and pickup, which was extremely helpful. It was a small tour, which was one of the primary reasons we booked. It was also a stress free day with Olman doing the driving and Rachel providing a lot of information about the history of Costa Rica and its provinces, such as Alajuela. She was extremely knowledgeable about the growing process at the coffee plantation from seeding to the time it gets into your cup. Rachel also provided detailed geological and historical information about Poas, as well as other volcanoes in Costa Rica. Our last excursion for the day was La Paz Waterfall gardens. Rachel was again informative about the flora, fauna and specifics about the wildlife and their rescue situations. She also provided answers to a number of random questions. While the weather was a bit unseasonal, we felt we got the whole rainforest experience without any mosquitoes. It’s a higher altitude after all, so expect cooler temperatures and some potential mist/rain as it is a cloud forest. Lunch was good and appropriately timed before the hike to the waterfalls. After wrapping up our full day of activities, Olman drove us all safely back to our hotels, handling the bustling rush hour traffic without any signs of stress in the comfortable and clean tour bus. A wonderful first day.

The experience was fantastic. Olman our guide was very gracious and friendly. His pick up was right on time. He was very informative throughout the tour. Each stop was great and very relaxed. He did not rush us and accompanied us on each hike, explaining things as we went along. His experience was evident as he has been doing this for over 30 years. The lunch was great, the sights were fabulous. An all around enjoyable day!

Even though we could not access Poaz Volcano due to road construction, we absolutely loved this tour. Our guides were knowledgeable, friendly, and accommodating.

Our guide Rachel and driver Oman were fantastic. The volcano portion of the trip had to be canceled due to the road being closed for construction. We were reimbursed the ticket money for that. And we were told ahead of time. With that being said, although I wanted to see it, it didn't affect the perfect day. Oman was an excellent driver and I felt completely safe. Rachel is very knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. We spent the day going to A local coffee farm. In which we were able to pick coffee cherries and learn about the growing process and the difference in coffee beans. We were able to buy coffee and gifts on site. After that we went to La Paz waterfall and wildlife sanctuary. I highly recommend this. Beautiful facility. The animals are well cared for. It was a wonderful experience to see. There are five waterfalls. The walk to the waterfalls itself can be a little strenuous. Please take note if you have balance issues. Walking down to the waterfalls may not be for you. After that, we stopped by and tasted fresh strawberries, fresh cheese, and strawberry wine. It was a wonderful day.

Rachel and Olman were wonderful tour guides. Even though we couldn’t do the volcano because it was closed we still had a great time. The coffee plantation, hiking to see the waterfalls and being at the animal rescue was the best experience.

This was so worth the money. Our tour guide was super knowledgeable, friendly and bilingual. Unfortunately the volcano was closed but we were compensated the difference. Still it was about an 8 hour day. The views, experiences, information, food and snacks were all great. We got a lot of information along the drive so was way more than just the info from the stops. Would take this tour again.

I had so much fun on this tour. The guides were very knowledgeable and friendly. They even arranged for a cart for me to accommodate limitations due to a knee injury so that I could fully participate. I enjoyed each of the stops. The garden was my favorite.

The minibus was very cramped for 14 people and it being such a long day. There was no room to even put a bag somewhere. My husband was sick because it was so cramped so we had to get off before the tour had even started. No refund has been given despite us requesting something.
