For this full day tour, we will visit three incredible places that are completely unique to this area. As well as learning more about Costa Rican coffee, we will visit Poás Volcano, one of only seven active volcanoes in the country. We will then see over 100 species including rescued sloths and hummingbirds in the La Paz Waterfall Gardens. This is my favourite trip in the San Jose area, providing you with a great combination of picturesque scenery and the chance to get up close to many species found in Costa Rica.

This tour was a wonderful way to learn and see several aspects of what makes Costa Rica unique efficiently, in a single day. Our driver and tour guide Raquel were both excellent and the sites covered in the tour were each well worth seeing. Highly recommended.

Worth every penny! Wasn’t expecting to do so much on this day trip. Really enjoyed the coffee plantation and seeing the animal rescue. Raquel was an A++ guide that kept the trip very interesting and informative. Would recommend to book!

This is a great day trip from San Jose. We walked about 5 miles between walking around the volcano and the waterfall gardens/animal rescue. There were lots of steps/stairs. Raquel is an informative tour guide and did a great job getting engaging with our group made up of pairs and solo travelers.

Way better than expected!! Coffee tour was pretty short, and unfortunately the view at the volcano was cloudy, but the nature / animal / waterfall stuff was really great!! Lunch was good too. Lots of bathroom opportunities as well. Our guide, Raquel, was excellent.

⸻ Great day with great company! Everything was well organized and fun. The coffee plantation was very comfortable and welcoming. We were lucky to see the volcano without fog or clouds and had enough time to take a longer walk back and even visit the store afterward. The waterfalls were an amazing experience with a tasty lunch — just be ready for lots of steps and a long walk!

Love this experience and our tour guide (Raquel) and driver (Olman)! It was so worth it seeing the volcano, coffee plantation, sanctuary, and waterfalls. We passed by the Starbucks plantation, and Raquel explained to us how Starbucks helps the farmers here in Costa Rica and the coffee institute. She was knowledgeable about all things Costa Rica and even agreed to take us to the Starbucks plantation after our tour to get coffee before we headed back home. Olman was also wonderful and sent text messages about the upcoming tour before the tour. He also answered our questions about the fruits here in Costa Rica. Fun fact from Raquel: The Starbucks plantation here in Costa Rica is the only Starbucks coffee bean plantation in world!

From beginning to the end, we had a great time thanks to Raquel(?) and Olman. The tour was the highlight of our trip. They are very attentive, considerate and friendly. The tour checked off our list for Costa Rica from seeing an active volcano, coffee plantation, waterfalls, and seeing birds/animals (ie sloths, macaws, monkeys, butterflies, frogs and many others rare species). Wouldn’t mind doing the same tour again if we come back to visit Costa Rica. Thank you.

Raquel (our guide) and Olman (driver) were great. Raquel is very knowledgeable. I had one free day (was on a business trip) and we were able to cover a lot. Would highly recommend.
