We will leave San Jose at 6 a.m. crossing the majestic Braulio Carrillo National Park, a sanctuary of mountains covered with cloud forest and towering waterfalls. As we move forward, our guide will share fascinating details about the region’s biodiversity and history. We will pause for a delicious breakfast in a panoramic restaurant before continuing the journey to the pier. We will board a comfortable boat and thus begin the adventure in this natural paradise. We will navigate serene rivers, mystical canals and crystal clear lagoons, surrounded by lush biodiversity. Enjoy an unforgettable experience in a unique environment, where the majesty of flora and fauna is displayed in every corner, with exotic birds, playful monkeys and alligators emerging among the vegetation.
Upon arrival at the lodge, you will be greeted with a refreshing welcome cocktail and enjoy a delicious buffet lunch, with a variety of dishes prepared with fresh ingredients from the region. After a well-deserved rest, we will head to the charming village of Tortuguero, a Caribbean corner full of culture and traditions. This small town, accessible only by water or air, is the heart of sea turtle conservation and the reflection of authentic Costa Rican life. We will walk through its colorful streets, where we can know the warmth of its people and discover local crafts. Then, we will visit the Turtle Museum, a space dedicated to the protection of these majestic creatures. 4.00The lodge was lovely, the location unbeatable. The food was edible but definitely didn’t stand out. We saw lots of wildlife up close and really enjoyed the daily tours. The town of Tortuguero was a nice surprise and we wished we had spent longer there. Note that this tour is a large group so at times we felt herded along like sheep.

5.00This was a great experience, and I would recommend it to any one (solo, couples, groups). Our tour guide (Fernando) was knowledgeable and did a great job. The trip from San Jose to Tortuguero was long (several hours on the coach bus and boat), but overall very easy and comfortable. The stay, food and drinks at Pachira Lodge were nice and yummy (not a 5-star if that's what you're used to). The forest does wake up at night so be prepared to see wildlife up close (monkeys, lizards, and bugs). As a solo traveler (on my first trip), the staff and tour guide made me feel safe the entire time.

5.00This tour is very good. Just the way to Tortoguero (Lodge Pachira) is already an excellent boat ride. The hotel is wonderful and the meals are great. The tours included are more or less, you don't see as many animals as we would like.
Stunning nature, beautiful resort, unique experiences! I look forward to returning!

5.00The tour was VERY well organized and adhered to the schedule. Our guide - Ray - was phenomenal! He was knowledgeable and very obviously loves what he does — sharing Costa Rica with vistors from around the world. The resort was beautiful, and the journey there (3-4 hours by bus and about 2 hours by boat) included some really fascinating flora and fauna. Driving past/through the banana plantations was very unique. Bonus: I opted in for the additional sea turtle adventure and successfully got to see a mama sea turtle laying eggs and covering her nest. It was a truly unique experience, and one I highly recommend if you visit during nesting season! The only downside: it was only two nights! I could have stayed a week or longer and been content!

5.00Worry free connections/transportation via bus (hotel pickup) & boat transfers to an extremely remote location full of nature! Expect to see wide array of tropical birds, different species of monkeys, caymans, sloths, coconut crabs and an abundance of tropical plants and flowers! Pachira and Aninga Lodge were absolutely impeccable with attentive service and would highly recommend a peaceful nights sleep in the jungle as close to nature as possible!

4.00All-round carefree package: The journey itself is an adventure, you are always accompanied by guides who explain. Everything is very well organized. The accommodations vary, we stayed at Pachira Lodge and very satisfied! Nice large room with veranda surrounded by plants and much visited by animals. Delicious food, lots of wonderful activities on water and on land. Only the “Nature Walk” in the hotel’s own forest is not a real walk, rather a circular route, which you have run in 5 minutes on concrete trail. Tortuguero was a highlight of our trip, we would come back anytime, including at the Pachira Lodge.

4.00It was a well organized nice tour. Tortuguero was a remote place, not easy to get there by oneself. Thanks the tour company arranging everything. The national park was unique. We enjoyed very much riding the boat in the canal to tour the park. Our guide Fernando was enthusiastic about the environment and his work. He tried very hard to cope with the weather condition. The only down side was the lodge. I was not expecting anything luxury. But if there were a few more pieces of furniture like a table and chairs it would help a lot.
