This was an amazing tour. Adele was our guide and was in the lobby of our place 20 minutes before departure. She was friendly with a lot of energy. The approximately three hour trip there and back is a slog, but a necessary part of the day. We arrived at Gubeikou and climbed up to an unrestored part of the Great Wall (Wild Wall). It was so interesting and there were very few other people around so we felt like we had the wall to ourselves. It was safe and just ruggedly beautiful. After we climbed down we had a delicious lunch. Adele explained our food options and we picked out dishes we wanted to try. Then we drove to Jinshanling wall. We took a cable car up so we had a nice amount of time walking this part of the wall. It was restored and had more foot traffic. Watching the sun set while on the Great Wall was a magical experience. I will note that we also did the Mutainyu Great Wall another day. If you can, you should see two different sections of the wall. Amazing!

Was a long day - far drive, but well worth it. Our guide, Peter, was excellent. He spoke good English and has a lovely sense of humour. He adapted the pace of walking to our needs. The lunch was delicious and the Wall panoramas spectacular - particular during sun set. I strongly recommend this tour.

Incredible experience, life long memories of some beautiful sights. Leo is an experienced guide, with tonnes of local knowledge and just a fun person to spend days exploring the city. The sunset tour of the Great Wall was absolutely unforgettable, it all looks more amazing in real life. With Leo there’s no language barrier at all, we just talked about life, history, we really connected at human level. He knows the best spots for Insta perfect pictures and importantly he is a safe driver, so we felt very safe and relaxed in his company.

This trip was nothing short of magical! From start to finish, everything was smooth, enjoyable, and perfectly paced. Our driver, Leo, was absolutely fantastic—friendly, funny, and incredibly knowledgeable. He made the drive feel more like a road trip with a good friend than a tour. The sunset views over the Great Wall were breathtaking—seriously, pictures don’t do it justice. Watching the sun dip behind the mountains while standing on such a historic monument is an experience I’ll never forget. We also had a delicious meal that exceeded all expectations. Fresh, flavorful, and exactly what we needed in between adventures. If you’re looking for a unique, scenic, and well-organized way to experience the Great Wall, this sunset tour is it. Highly recommend!

Great day at the Gubeikou (wild) and Jinshanling (restored) sections of the Great Wall. Super relaxing and peaceful experience without crowds, and avoiding the midday heat. Our guide Leo was very knowledgeable, professional and friendly. He is also a great photographer and knows the best photo spots ;) Highly recommended, would definitely go with Leo if I visit again.

Adele was super friendly and knowledgeable on various topics about Chinese culture. We explored both unrestored and restored sections of the Wall which gives a great feeling of the history behind it. The sunset was simply mind-blowing with close to no crowd at all, which made the experience feels very private. I am so incredibly grateful to have experienced this. Thank you so much!!

Thoroughly enjoyable experience! Good to be able to compare the raw state of the walls in Gubeikou versus the renovated version at Jinshanling. You’ll have a good time with Leo, the guide.

Adele is an excellent tour guide, very knowledgeable and flexible about meeting the multi-generational mobility needs of our family. We also learned a lot about the history of the Great Wall, Temple of Heaven and Forbidden City. The Great Walk trip was also far from the madding crowd, so we watched the sunset against the Great Wall all by ourselves!

Our guide Adele was very good and speaks excellent English. She was very informative about Chines history and the construction of the Great Wall. We went to the unrestored 'wild' Wall at Gubekou which was very interesting. We hiked up and along one section of the wild Wall and then back down. took about an hour. Then we very nice lunch at a local restaurant. After that we went to Jinshanling and hiked up and along the restored Wall which is very spectacular. There were hardly any people there and we stayed at the high point until sunset, which was magnificent and an experience not to be missed (about two hours at Jinshanling) Adele was a great guide for us and we would recommend her to any other travellers in the Beijiing area.
