What To Expect
Mutianyu Great Wall
Mutianyu Great Wall is much steeper than Badaling Great Wall, and a more challenging climb. This section is older than Badaling, and features outer and inner parapets. There are 22 watch-towers in the 2250-meter-long Mutianyu Great Wall, and the highest one is 540 meters above sea level. This section of the wall is also surrounded by woodland and streams. The Great Wall takes on different looks in different seasons. In spring, flowers are blooming. In summer, the Great Wall is lush and green. In winter, the Great Wall is covered with white snow. However, the Great Wall’s most charming season is autumn, when fruits ripen and leaves of gorgeously diverse color fall at this photogenic spot.

5.00I had a wonderful one-day tour to the Great Wall Mutianyu with Hantang Tour Beijing. The entire experience was well-organized, from the pickup and transportation to the timing and overall coordination. Our tour leader, Jenny, was outstanding. She was friendly, knowledgeable, and very attentive throughout the trip. Jenny explained the history of the Great Wall in a clear and engaging way, ensured everyone was comfortable, and always gave us enough time to enjoy the scenery and take photos. Her warm and positive attitude truly made the tour special. Mutianyu is a beautiful and less crowded section of the Great Wall, and with Jenny’s guidance, the visit became smooth, enjoyable, and memorable. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Beijing and looking for a professional, well-arranged tour. Thank you, Jenny and Hantang Tour Beijing, for such a great experience!

5.00To order the tour to the Great Wall was a last minute decision, the best one taken in cold wintery Beijing, which made my visit unforgettable. I chose to spend a day on the Wall with a group of nice people and very heartful, knowledgeable and open-minded Jenny, who was our tour guide. Jenny took us to the Wall telling the Chinese cultural background and nuances important to know about China - so many interesting and vivid things I would never learn from the net. Jenny gave us enough time to enjoy ourselves on the Wall and during the lunch, then at the tea ceremony, which left a beautiful lingering aftertaste of the tour.

5.00I booked the Great Wall (Mutianyu) and Ming Tombs, and our guide Mary was absolutely fantastic! She is incredibly friendly, knowledgeable and engaging. I was the handsome Italian guy. She explained so many things along the way, kept us entertained, and also gave us plenty of time to explore on our own. The final surprise, a tea tasting offered by Mary, was a wonderful touch and made the day even more memorable. It truly turned an already great experience into an unforgettable one. TOP RATING for me, and I will definitely contact Mary again for my next visit to the Forbidden City. Thank you

4.00I firstly should say that the tour guide, Jenny, was really great and if I could just give her a review, it'd be 5/5. The tour itself was just ok. The great wall was definitely amazing and had the tour just been that, I would give it a 5/5. Unfortunately, we spend only two hours at the wall, which seems to be a mandate by the government rather than the tour company, but it would've been nice to know that upfront. The rest of the day is a mix of a jade shop and a tea tasting and shop. While I personally really enjoyed the tea shop as I love Chinese tea, if you're not a fan or if you're just doing the tour for the great wall you will be disappointed. All this being said, I'm very conflicted about my review for this. The tour guide was fantastic, she was funny, intelligent, and was very easy to talk too. On top of that, the great wall was one of the most impressive things I've ever seen in my life. On the other hand, the 2.5 hours spent at the tea shop and jade shop compared to the 2 hours at the wall felt very odd. Overall I would recommend this tour to people, but come in knowing that you only have two hours at the great wall and that you will be brought to two establishments that try and sell you jade and tea.
