What To Expect
Mutianyu Great Wall
Mutianyu Great Wall is much steeper than Badaling Great Wall, and a more challenging climb. This section is older than Badaling, and features outer and inner parapets. There are 22 watch-towers in the 2250-meter-long Mutianyu Great Wall, and the highest one is 540 meters above sea level. This section of the wall is also surrounded by woodland and streams. The Great Wall takes on different looks in different seasons. In spring, flowers are blooming. In summer, the Great Wall is lush and green. In winter, the Great Wall is covered with white snow. However, the Great Wall’s most charming season is autumn, when fruits ripen and leaves of gorgeously diverse color fall at this photogenic spot.

5.00We had a fun day visiting the Great Wall on Michael Shi’s trip. We visited the Jade factory and experienced Chinese tea culture. The buffet lunch was also excellent with a lot of vegetarian options.

5.00Excellent trip to the Great wall. Our tour guide Jenny helped us a lot to make our experience a very comfortable and enjoyable one. We reached early morning at the base and took the open chair lift to the top of the wall. The views were amazing on that ride. Then on the wall we got to spend a comfortable amount of time to explore and could speak in the sights to our heart's content. To return we used the tobogann slide which was a lot of fun. Took us around 8-10 minutes to come down sliding. Was a lot of fun. The Jenny took us to the Jade factory and showed us around. The sales people there are a bit pushy about purchasing. We then had the best buffet lunch. Lots of non vegetarian and vegetarian food variety there. 10/10 on food. We then visited a tea ceremony and tasted a few kinds of Chinese tra. And were given a presentation of the ceremony along with etiquettes and history of tea drinking in China. All in all an excellent day and the majestic of the great wall is something one has to experience atleast once. The magnitude is mond boggling. Thanks to Jenny for being such a wonderful host.

5.00This tour was a great experience. We got to the Great Wall before the crowds did and had plenty of time to explore and soak in the sights. Travel accommodation and food were nice as well. Our tour guide Jenny was amazing. She was kind and friendly, and she kept everyone happy and on track. I definitely recommend this tour to anyone in Beijing planning on visiting the Great Wall!

5.00Overall we had an amazing experience. Our guide Mary has incredible knowledge of the rich history of China and very clearly explained everything. The trip felt fun and stressless and we had plenty of time to enjoy the walk on the Great Wall. Ask for Mary and you can be sure to have an amazing time.

She accompanied us to the wall, shared information on history and gave us free time to experience the wall by ourselves. She also purchased the tickets for the cable car and toboggan slide which was super great and convenient cuz it saved us time and the hazzle of purchasing it ourselves. We also got to know more about the jade and its culture in China which was super interesting. The lunch was amazing! The food was great. And in addition got to the tea ceremony which we all loved!
