Also, we would like to warn you the last row on the 4x4 vehicle is a bit difficult to get in too and the knees will be a bit high during the trip , It will not be a problem for the teenagers ,agile or smaller people, but they are the least comfortable seats, and the vehicle will be at its max.

What To Expect
In a private tour on the day that you arrive you can decide whit full information on whether conditions, wait to see and then chose. The advised options are Sete Cidades, Furnas or Lagoa do Fogo, but other options can be considered in the time frame available. Shore excursion tour to Sete Cidades After exploring several lakes around the area, hop on an all-terrain ride for travel along the craters of Sete Cidades. Visit the small local parish. Shore excursion tour to Furnas Meet the most romantic town in Portugal. In Furnas, hot spring water is neighbor to the fresh spring water inside a volcano. See vegetation and fumaroles competing. Enjoy Furnas lake shore (a small trail hike can be included if wanted) and see how a traditional Portuguese plate is done in Furnas. Shore excursion tour to Lagoa do Fogo Enjoy the natural blue hue of the natural reserve, Fogo Lake. Visit the Caldeira Velha with its hot waterfall and natural pool for swimming. Explore a 4WD trail to a fresh water waterfall (a small trail hike can be included if wanted). Witness evidence of volcano activity at Ribeira Grande, a small town in Caldeiras

Our guide was like having a personal geologist showing us the wonders of the Azores, and even better, he has a son around the same age as our kids, so he offered amazing kid-friendly recommendations. We visited hidden waterfalls, secret spots, and stunning vistas that we never would have found on our own. It was adventurous, safe, and completely worth every penny — an unforgettable experience for the whole family.

5.00Fantastic jeep tour with a friendly, extremely knowledgable guide named Gonsalvo (sp?) who went out of his way to show us everything he could. He was an expert at taking pictures of our group of 4, spoke good English, and had a fun sense of humor. To top it all off, he aided helped us make a reservation for dinner at an out-of-the-way place he recommended, which turned out to be another great adventure.

5.00Delfim was an excellent guide. He was knowledgeable on many subjects brought up on our tour of Sete Cidades. He made good use of the 4x4 in taking us on backroads to views that couldn’t be seen on the main roads. He picked us up promptly at the cruise terminal. His English was great and his personality is warm and welcoming. He is a great ambassador for a beautiful island and made us want to return soon and use his services again. We highly recommend using his services.

5.00My family took several tours while we were on Sao Miguel, and this one was absolutely our favorite. We visited the Furnas region, including the tea plantation, the lagoa, and the town itself. Our guide, Telmo, was exceptional—personable, knowledgeable, and funny. My two teenagers were fully engaged for the entire tour, and we could not believe the depth of Telmo’s knowledge on every subject, from agriculture, to history, to geology, and cultural traditions. We learned so much! Thank you, T4W, for an amazing introduction to Furnas and its surroundings.

5.00We were short on time so decided to do the 1/2 day tour. The weather was a bit rainy and foggy but our guide, Delphime( sorry if I got the spelling wrong) was fabulous. I did everything I was hoping to and more. I wanted to go to Parque Terra Nostra. The geothermal spring was fantastic. He surprised us with tea plantation. He was super knowledgeable. We had a wonderful day.

5.00Our guide was Miguel and he was perfect! We were picked up in a very clean, well maintained Toyota Land Cruiser and he gave us an overview of our excursion. We set off and had a thrilling adventure! He showed us all the highlights of the west end of the island and answered all our questions. He was informative and kind! He shared personal stories and legends of the island. We are a family of 4, with 2 girls ages 12 and 15. This tour was perfect for our family! Thanks Miguel for an unforgettable experience.
