Corinth Canal
Embrark in our aircondironed modern bus from 4 central meeting points and travel for to the area of Peloponnese. One hour drive away from Athens, in the area of Peloponnese you will be able to find the famous Corinth Canal. The Corinth Canal is a canal that connects the Gulf of Corinth with the Saronic Gulf in the Aegean Sea. It cuts through the narrow Isthmus of Corinth and separates the Peloponnese from the Greek mainland, thus effectively making the former peninsula an island. The canal elevated Piraeus’ status as a major Mediterranean port . A project that spanned many centuries, it was conceived by a ruler of Ancient Corinth, begun by Roman emperor Nero, and completed in the 19th century by the French. Cut through solid rock, the canal is more than 6km long and 23m wide, its vertical sides rising 90m above the water. We stop at the Canal for 45 min. Near the canal there are options for refeshments ,snacks and public toilets.
Ancient Corinth (Archaia Korinthos)
Then we head to Ancient Corith, a very important city the ancient & roman times. (30 min ride). Renowned for its wealth and architecture, Corinth was the site of Greece’s final stand against Rome. After the defeat, the Romans levelled the city, then rebuilt it as a Roman settlement with theatres, a forum and imperial temples. Only the ancient Temple of Apollo was spared. Corinth was home to the famous Jason of the Argonauts, stealer of the Golden Fleece, Pausanias, Roman traveller, and St Paul, who taught the gospel of Christ here. Follow their footsteps & relive the past with our Virtual Reality application that you will use in the Arhaelogical Site while listening to the fascinating history with our Audioguide. The museum of the Site is also a must to visit. We will stay in Ancient Corinth for 3 hours. There is also a nearby village for quick lunch or snacks. Admission high season 8 euros. Low season 4 euros.

Excellent well paced itinerary that combined four diversified destinations. The background knowledge provided by Dido, our guide, was just right. She also allowed well deserved quiet time

Nice to explore Corinth on your own but the audio is worthless…better to just read the signs. Guide was pleasant and informative!

Stefanos delivered a world class tour today! I could not have asked for a better experience. He is a wealth of knowledge and very personable. I very much enjoyed the tour today and when I come back to Greece next year, I will look for tours that Stefanos Guides! Each of the stops had perfect timing. Stefano seems to know worldwide information that I found very interesting in such a young man. We had phones with earbuds.to deliver maps and information for the points in ancient Corinth. The phones worked perfectly. I am very happy with my experience and I feel that it was of great value both financially and culturally. Don't pass up the opportunity for this tour! Our driver was very pleasant and personable. In fact, he's one of the best of my experiences in Greece! You can't go wrong with these two!

Great tour to the Corinth Canal and the Ancient ruins of Corinth. The tour was 7 hours so most of the day. Saw the canal and then onto the ruins to walk around at your own pace. Spent around 3 hours here and could have lunch in the old town next to the ruins. Plenty of leisure time and not a rushed tour. Capped off the day with a photo opportunity at the castle and old port. Would recommend. Our guide and driver were excellent.
