Wonderful way to see Hierve el Agua! The guide (and driver) was so professional and nice (and his English was perfect). Excellent pickup location in Centro de Oaxaca and 1.5ish hour drive each way. We enjoyed the small (45 minute hike) to see different views of the water/cliffs and then we had an hour on our own to swim! The trip was particularly well planned as we left earlier than most other tour groups, so we had the place to ourselves for the first bit. Bring cash for the lunch vendors, water, sunscreen and sneakers or hiking shoes! Not that strenuous, however.

Hierve de Agua is a beautiful place. Our tour guide, Paul, was so knowledgeable about everything. We learned about local communities, culture, plants, mezcal and more! There was something for everyone on this tour. The hike was done in an enjoyable pace which gave ample opportunities for questions, scenic views and photos. Overall, I highly recommend this tour with Paul.

Really enjoyed this trip, more of a condensed version of many other trips out there. Got to experience the pools with out too many other people around which was really nice, and enjoyed hiking to the base of the falls to really get up close and see the environment. The hike is very steep though, which caught some people off guard. Paul was fantastic and had lots of great info to answer any questions. Had a delicious lunch at a nearby stand with some fantastic fresh fruit and coconuts!

Paul picked us up right from our hotel which was very convenient as the tour started early. We stopped to get churros and tamales and headed to the waterfall. Along the way we got to see Mezcal being made in the traditional way and small town life. Paul took us on a hike to the bottom of the falls explaining different plants and geologic areas as we went. At the end, the hike was steep up to the top where we had time to swim in the pools. It was beautiful! We then ate lunch before leaving. We liked that this was only a half day excursion, it was the perfect length of time for us. Paul is very knowledgable about this area and it was overall a great experience!

The hike around the falls is not easy, but it is definitely worth it! Paul was an excellent guide - would recommend!
