Be picked up from your hotel in an SUV car with a trained driver and be brought to the start of the tour. Journey with us in this two-hour action packed historical walking tour where it all began. We will guide you through the middle east markets, traditional houses, and historic by lanes of the old city. You will go back in time to see what life was like on the sleepy banks of a pearling and fishing village. The tour includes a visit to a Fort, a boat ride across the creek, and visits to the famous textile, spice and gold souks (markets).
Along the way, you will hear the story of the men and women who transformed this regional trading outpost into the global juggernaut that it is today. Elements of Emirati culture will be seen up-close as we explained the nuanced ways that the traditions still thrive.
Far away from the glass skyscrapers of modern Dubai, this tour will introduce you to the real, and fascinating, heart and soul of the town. You simply cannot miss this side of Dubai!

DUBAI is HOT BUT I had concerned a walking tour might not be a good idea. BUT MAAZ KHAN our guide rarely had us in the sun. We visited a beautiful old restaurant AL KHAYMA HERITAGE RESTAURANT where we sat in a traditional room ( air conditioned) to taste delicious traditional sweets and tea. Then the walk through the town was mostly shaded. Again tasting coffee in a traditional house, with the explanations of how the family social life worked. We then crossed the river waiting by the river in the shade with a lovely breeze. Then walked to the Souks a 200 metres away where the tour ended. We were fortunate to have an excellent guide MAAZ KHAN who had extensive knowledge who could share it in a clear, precise manner He was also considerate of the needs of our group..(older ladies who couldn’t sit on the floor so chairs were provided and we felt included) I would highly recommend this tour and our guide

Do make time to have a drink at the tearoom where you’ll meet Ricardo , it’s lovely ! Ricardo was an excellent guide, we really enjoyed the tour. He takes you through the markets , over the creek and to the spice market / gold souk . Plenty of time to buy things. Highly recommended!

Our guide Pri was fantastic! She was extremely knowledgeable about the history of the UAE as well as everything current, and we enjoyed talking with her. The tour of Old Dubai was very interesting, and Pri provided us with lots of advice on shopping in the Souks. Highly recommend!

I’ve lived in Dubai two years and finally had a chance to do a proper walking tour when my sister visited from New York. Dubai By Foot with Richard is a fascinating, fun and fabulous experience! He helped connect so many historical dots and the UAE’s place in the world. We loved buying spices, textiles, and art in the narrow lanes of Old Dubai and drinking kahwe at every majlis. Thank you and cannot recommend this tour enough !

Brilliant tour, Ricky was great. So full of knowledge. It was a highlight of the holiday. The Arabian Tea house is lovely so go early and have tea and food, really nice place. Lovely to see the traditional houses and the souks. Loved the abra boat trip to the gold souk. Highly recommend this tour. My 10 year old loved it .

We prefer taking walking tours in all cities that we visit and this one didn't disappoint us. We started the day by meeting our guide in Bastakiya. We were given detailed instructions on where to meet the guide. We are coffee lovers and the Coffee Museum was a highlight for us on this tour. We ended the tour 2 hours later at a different spot (not the one where the tour started) and spent some more time exploring and shopping from the souks after the tour.
