Mika was an amazing guide! Probably one of the best tour guides we have ever had. She helped us navigate through the main sites of Kyoto despite crowds all with ease, kindness and made it fun for my 10 year old. We are so grateful for this experience and learned so much about the beauty of Kyoto and its people.

Kiyoto was super helpful, friendly, and fun. He picked us up and dropped us off at the hotel. He even helped me buy a bunch of souvenirs and took my partner to a salon to get a haircut (and explained what he wanted in Japanese). Would definitely recommend to others and friends!

First the tour guide provided no information or stories regarding the sights at Kinkakuji. Very basic reading from simple book with a few sentences that I could have found more details on the internet. Next we went to Nijo castle. Again not any information or details regarding the sights. We ended up reading the panels in front of each structure ourselves to understand more. Then we decided this was a waste of our time and ask him to end the tour after 2hr even though paid for 4hr. Furthermore we had to pay for his taxi cab and forces one family member to ride with him. This was very expensive tour and guide was very poor. Have requested partial refund and waiting for reply from tour operator.
Kyoto tour with Takuma was the best!

Takuma was an excellent, informative guide. He was very flexible and open to adjusting the schedule based upon our interests. He was very personable and warm and made us feel extremely comfortable asking questions. I highly recommend him and will tell our family and friends about what a great tour he gave. Thank you!

Our guide Shoji was outstanding, patient and understanding. English excellent as he spent several years working in NYC. Lots of walking...could have used more cabs to get from one site to another. Met us at our ryokan.,.then took cab to the north east end of the city, starting at the Silver Pavilion.
