Richard is a great tour guide with a straightforward and informative style. He’s clearly passionate about Kyoto history and equally as passionate about sharing his knowledge. My wife and 2 sons (16 and 14) thoroughly enjoyed our 4 hour evening tour and learned a ton. Be sure to have a decent snack prior to going because it is a lot of walking and right might be at dinner time for people. There’s a delicious snack about 80% of the way through the tour that allows you to chill and recharge. We stumbled upon a great sushi spot (called “Sushi and bar spot”) right near the end of the tour that was still open and was really fun. We highly recommend Richard and his tour around Gion.

We were lucky enough to have a private tour as we were the only ones with Richard. Richard was exceptional, sharing his knowledge, passion DE geisha and the Gion neighborhood. It takes us to more typical places and shares a ton of information. He's super generous. If you want to spend a truly magical evening in the DE Gion neighborhood, look no further!

It was so pleasing experience to explore Kyoto with Richard. The stories of the city and it's culture and the less explored streets is the take aways from this trip. Richard is a nice guy and we loved the stories he has to tell about Kyoto and it's history. Overall, it's a must go.

Walking tour, learning the history and culture of the geisha arts and gion district. We saw beautiful shrines and had a delicious matcha treat also. Richard was our guide and was absolutely incredible - he helped us map out the rest of our time in Kyoto and his food recommendations were incredible
