1. Get Dressed in Samurai Training Gear (Dōgi, Obi, and Hakama) 2. Take Lessons About Samurai Culture and Swordsmanship 3. Train How to Draw, Sheath, and Wield a Katana 4. Learn an Actual Katana Kata (Form) 5. Watch the Master’s Katana Performances *Please note that mat cutting with a real katana is not currently offered *Time required: 1.5 to 2 hours (depending on the number of participants)

5.00Highlight of our trip so far! If you are in Kyoto and don't join Yushin Sensei and Jordan for this experience...why even come to Kyoto? A truly authentic experience. Not a tourist trap for an Instagram photo...real samurai training! It felt like we signed up for a 10 session class and this was class #1. Can't recommend it enough!!!

5.00Hubby and I have been involved in MAA and Karate for 20 years. We booked up for this experience with little expectation, for a bit of fun, but to our delight, it turned out to be as close to the real deal that we could have hoped for. We loved it and training with an experienced Japanese Semsai (Master), of many years. Great experience.
Worth the price $. We learnt a lot about the history and the Katana. A very interesting and enjoyable experience.

5.00Our whole family (two adults, two teenagers) loved this hands-on training! Excellent instruction by Yoshin sensai and Jordan. The information about the art of samurai, katanas and the demonstration of kata and cutting were all very special. The dojo is very welcoming and the cards at the end are a really nice touch. (Note - it’s very close to Nishiki market when planning your day).

5.00Samurai training was so much fun! Jordan and Yushin-sensei made the whole experience entertaining and educational. Our group really loved learning a kata (one of hundreds of movesets that samurai learn), and about the history of samurai and katana. Our favorite part was Yushin-sensei's demonstration of a series of kata. Due to a recent change in Japanese law, we were no longer able to slice tatami mats ourselves, but we still enjoyed watching the masters accomplish the feat.

5.00Amazing experience. You are in a real Dojo with a real master of his discipline. The staff really care about transmetting their passion while speaking. If you are Lucky. You could see the Master do some Kata that you cant see anywhere
