The Day Tour to the Asis wild animal rescue center outside of La Fortuna, is a great way to learn about wildlife protection and see Costa Rican animals up close.The tour begins with an explanation of the importance of the center’s goal of preserving wildlife populations in the face of illegal hunting and natural habitat destruction. Asis works with non-profit organizations, goverment entities and environmental agencies to save animals, return them to the forest when possible, and educate visitors about multiple species in danger of extinction and other topics related to their welfare.
The Asis tour with volunteering provides the opportunity for visitors to not only see the facilities and wild animals but to assist in the rehabilitation process. You will learn about the center’s dedication to the protection of the incredible diversity of life in the Costa Rican ecosystems and the mission to save wild animals and reintroduce them into their natural habitat.

5.00This is a great way to get a feel for how much Costa Rican's care about their animal residents. You will learn a lot about what is being done to conserve and protect Costa Rica in general. We learned a lot and really enjoyed being participants in the volunteer role. We came away with a great appreciation for Costa Rica from this visit.

5.00Attended today with our young family ages 6, 8 and 11 year olds. This was the highlight of our holiday. We got to see all the rescued animals, learn more about how to be more responsible with wildlife and got to feed the monkeys. We had an excellent tour guide, Carlos, who was very knowledgeable, kept the kids engaged and very friendly. Everyone who worked there was very friendly and helpful. I would definitely go back if I had the chance and highly recommend to anyone else in the area
