Vinh Trang Temple
Pagoda is a beautiful Buddhist temple located in My Tho, Tien Giang province. This pagoda is one of the most famous and important historical and cultural landmarks in the Mekong Delta region of Vietnam. The temple has been attracting both local and foreign visitors for decades due to its unique architecture and spiritual significance. The Vinh Trang Pagoda was founded in the mid-19th century by a monk named Hue Dang. It is situated on a 2-hectare area and is surrounded by green trees and beautiful gardens. The architecture of the pagoda is a blend of Vietnamese, Chinese, and Cambodian styles, which makes it unique and captivating. The main building of the pagoda is a large sanctuary that is dedicated to the Buddha. The interior of the temple is beautifully decorated with colorful statues of the Buddha, as well as depictions of Buddhist legends and teachings. The roof of the temple is decorated with dragon-shaped ornaments, which is a common feature of traditional architecture.

A tour with some highlights. The best part was the trip by small rowboat in a small channel under palm trees and leaves. The guide Tom was very competent and took very good care of and explained everything very well. Picking up at the hotel worked perfectly and was no problem at all via WhatsApp. The driver did the long drive very well. Also the motorboat on the Mekong was a good experience the lunch in a family environment was excellent and it tasted very good to everyone. Finally the fish farm and the visit to a coconut candy factory as well as a singing performance which was also really surprisingly beautiful. The tour is very worthwhile and is also well suited for older people. It all went very entertaining and stress-free with enough time and also with convenient opportunities to go to the toilet again and again.

The whole trip was filled with beautiful views and a real sense of local life. Cruising along the canals was so calm, with palm trees arching overhead and small homes By the water. Every stop felt authentic, tasting fruits, beefarm, fishing and coconut candy workshop.

We are very happy to have chosen the private tour with our excellent guide Huy, who gave us extensive insights in the everyday life of Vietnamese people living in the Mekong Delta. The tour featured religious, culinary, economic and cultural information during all stops. The route of the tour leads you deeper into the canals, away from the overcrowded tourist spots. If you want to have an authentic experience of local life, this is the trip you've got to book. Huy was entertaining and very caring about our wellbeing, which made the trip memorable. We were able to try a lot of different fruits, local food and also local alcoholic drinks, if you wish. We've visited nice spots for taking good photos also!

We stopped at a beautiful ancient pagoda, the hopped on a big boat to cruise along the river. Later, we visited some local workshops and even wore the traditional Vietnamese hat while taking a rowing boat ride. It wasn’t crowded at all, and our guide made the history and nature really easy to understand. The whole trip felt relaxed and gave me a great vibe into local life by the water. Highly recommend if you want something simple but authentic
