We had two separate tours last fall. One was with Pedro who took us on a city tour of Lucerne and one was a day trip to Engelberg and Mt. Titlis with Sandra. They were both fantastic in different ways and really made our family trip to Switzerland special. Pedro was passionate about sharing both the historical and contemporary aspects of the city. We very much enjoyed the engaging conversations we had with him and learned a lot about. Our visit to Engelberg had special significance as my grandfather had fought in Europe during WWII and had visited Switzerland before coming home. He always said that Switzerland was the most beautiful place he had ever seen. Through research, we found that it is likely he went to Mt. Titlis. Sandra was a wonderful host and guide throughout the day and made sure that we had a special experience to honor my grandfather’s memory.

Weather really makes a difference. Pedro took us straight to Mt. Rigi in the morning and the trip up the mountain on the cog railway was brilliant with excellent viewing conditions. Became overcast on Lake Lucerne ferry and started to rain early afternoon at Lucerne. Could not see Mt Rigi from about 2PM due to cloud. Great call Pedro. Wandered around parts of the city and it would be really great in sunshine but alas, only drizzle this time. May get back sometime in the future to see it over a couple of days but we only had the afternoon this time. Pedro, good driver, good comfortable vehicle and good company. Great views when not in cloud or rain.

While on vacation in Europe, our family decided to move our flight by 8 hours so we could have time to see some sights in Switzerland. We booked this private tour just 72 hours prior and were so pleased by the prompt responses of Catharina. We were quite pleased with our driver Renè who picked us up promptly from Basel. The van was spacious and very comfortable for our family of 8. Pedro, our guide was awesome. He was very engaging and always told us where to sit to get the best view points on the cable car, boat, and in the train. He made us feel like we had VIP passes. A surprise plus in our tour was getting to listen to a choir in the Lucerne Jesuit Church! Our only regret is that we should've started off earlier so we could see more of Lucerne before heading off to the airport to catch our flight. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and highly recommend this tour!
