My Tho
Day 1. HCMC - My Tho - Ben Tre - Can Tho (stay at 3-star hotel) - Around 7:45am. Get picked up at your centrally located hotels in Ho Chi Minh City and head to the Mekong Delta by bus. Your onboard tour guide will tell you everything about the culture of the locals while you can sit back, relax and enjoy the landscapes and scenery of green rice fields. Stop at the Vinh Trang pagoda on the way. Continue to My Tho and take a boat trip along the Mekong River where you can escape the busy town. Enjoy a sampan ride through the coconut trees-lined canals. Disembark and explore the village on foot. Visit local families where you can enjoy fruits, honey tea and wine while listening to traditional music performed by the villagers. Enjoy a traditional lunch. In the afternoon, travel to Can Tho, the heart of the Mekong Delta. Stay overnight in the hotel. Free time to explore the city at night. (3-star Van Phat Riverside Hotel or Senior Hotel Can Tho)
Cai Rang Floating Market
Day 2: CAI RANG FLOATING MARKET - HO CHI MINH CITY The next day, start early at around 6:00AM to visit the famous Cai Rang Floating Market. The market is most vibrant in the early hours of the morning. Witness the hustle and bustle of boats selling fruits, vegetables, and various local products. During your boat tour, make a pit stop at one of the boats selling vermicelli and coffee. You can choose to buy and enjoy these local delicacies while soaking in the unique atmosphere of the market. Continue your boat tour to visit a Rice Noodle Factory. Here, you can witness the traditional process of making rice noodles. We'll also take some time to explore a bustling local market, where colorful stalls are brimming with fresh produce, spices, and vegetables. Around 9:00AM to 9:30AM: Return to your hotel for check-out, enjoy breakfast and freshening up after the morning's activities.

Luxury local culture & food tour in The Mekong River

5.00This tour was even better than expected. Everything is included. The Hotel we stayed in was luxurious even with no extra money. Thanks to Linda we had a perfect combination of local experience and food tasting. We could see bigger floating market as long as small canal full of locals. We could bike a few times. We visited the rice noodles factories, the coconut factories. You also have a free night in Can Tho where you can enjoy the street food market, the lighting in the city and explore some locals crafts & restaurants. Among the tastings: so many different fruits, coconut water, sugar cane, Vietnamese pancakes, rice noodles pizza, coconut/snake/banana wine. We also had coconut candies, a honey tea and chips. The two lunch included are a festin. On top of that, the young Linda is an amazing tour guide. Giving just the right amount of information, leaving you space but also here for your questions. 5.00Happy to recommend the 2 day Mekong Delta and Cai Rang floating market tour. Our guide (Harry) was knowledgeable, friendly and communicative, and was able to explain the context and background of the activities. I was a solo traveller, and the rest of the group were all couples, but it didn't feel awkward. Some of the tour was a little "touristy", but you have to recognise that that's the only way things like the floating market still survive. Overall, a great experience.

5.00With an interesting drive down to the Delta, the two days were jam packed with activities, some better than others but all I'm glad to have been able to do. Our tour guide, Ben was great. Very knowledgeable and informative.
