Everything worked great, we booked a small group tour and were still alone. It was not touristy as we were the only visitors in the area. All the people of the team were very very friendly and our tour guide An spoke very good English and was very nice. She loves her job, you could tell. Also the food and the boat trip were nice. We were picked up at the hotel at 7.30am and at about 4.30pm we went back to HCMC. Many thanks to the team for this day.

Thank you, Tracy, for such meaningful insight into Vietnam. How better to get to know Vietnam than to shop its wet market with a local, get to know the many herbs and vegetables that make its food taste so unique. Then to cook and eat it in a homestay far from the hustle and bustle of the towns. It was unforgettable and we look forward to applying some of what we learned when we cook back home.

We had the most memorable day touring the Mekong with Chi from Zig Zag the Mekong. From the moment we met her, Chi radiated kindness, warmth, and happiness. She is incredibly knowledgeable about the region, sharing fascinating insights at every step, but what stood out most was how genuinely caring she was throughout the day. Our adventure began at her friend’s family business, where we watched two women skillfully weave beautiful grass mats. It was humbling to see the time and effort it takes — nearly two hours for just one mat! From there, we jumped on motorbikes and continued our journey deeper into local life, exploring places and experiences we never would have discovered on our own. The absolute highlight was gliding down the Mekong in a traditional small boat. Peaceful, scenic, and almost magical — it gave us a whole new perspective on the river and the communities who live by it. Chi made us feel like welcomed friends rather than just visitors. Every stop was thoughtfully chosen, and her joy in sharing her culture was infectious. If you’re visiting the Mekong and want an experience that is authentic, informative, and heart-warming, we cannot recommend Chi and Zig Zag the Mekong highly enough.

We had the best day. Loved being on the motorbike and driving thru the countryside. Got to taste some chocolate, candy, sugarcane drink and also saw lots of factories that were processing coconuts. Had the best lunch followed by a boat trip. Fantastic experience and would highly recommend

Beautiful day to discover Ben Tre. Motorcycle rides to discover coconut farm, chocolate, coconut candy, sugar cane juice, how to open coconut to drink water, coconut yarns crossing the stalls along the way. Great lunch in the home stay. And then really nice and relaxing boat tour. Motorbike ride in the biggest market of Ben Tre and to finish a delicious Vietnamese crepes.

Great day in Bến Tre! We spent the whole day with an adorable guide who introduced us to the area and local life. It was exotic, warm and really interesting. I highly recommend this experience to those who want to discover the Mekong differently.
