What To Expect
Temple of Olympian Zeus
Dedicated to Zeus head of the Olympian Gods, this colossal Temple pre-dates the Acropolis and is the largest ever constructed and home to one of the wonders of the ancient world; a gigantic statue of Zeus seated on a throne over 12 meters tall and encrusted with gold, ivory & Jewels. At the golden sandals of the god sat an olive oil reservoir that reflected on the statue making it appear that the god would rise up and lift of the temple roof. One can only imagine the impact it had on the visitors of the day over 2500 years before! The starting point for the tour is located opposite the temple so you will start with the stories & myths surrounding Zeus and his influence on the citizens of Athens.
Acropolis
Most sacred site of Ancient Greece and crowned by the pinnacle of Classical Greece, the Parthenon which was richly decorated with the struggles of the gods, and the focus of the largest Athenian celebrations to the Goddess Athena. A short distance away lies the Erechtheion Temple, dedicated to both the God Poseidon and Goddess Athena who battled for the patronage of Athens. Learn of their competition, uncover the riddles of the Parthenon, the events behind the myths and the relevance of these monuments both then and now in the lives of Athenians.

5.00It was a great tour. Our tour guide Vicky was very knowledgeable and guided us through acropolis museum and temples. Without her, we would miss some historic landmarks and events and sculptures. I left a 5-star review with a note for future tourists. I booked a 3-hour guided tour including one hour museum. My experience was that the added one-hour acropolis museum time wasn’t enough for me. I had to go back to the museum myself again. For underground excavation museum, I had to spend another hour to know 1700 years of Athenian history and culture. It was amazing story. If anyone wanted to fully explore the acropolis museum, I would recommend spending at least 3 hour time there.

5.00Our guide was amazing, warm, friendly, and brilliant! She was so much fun to speak with and tour the acropolis with. We had such a fun time with her beginning with mythology discussions at the arch of Hadrian, to life discussions on the way to the acropolis, to culture discussions through the plaka. Absolutely 10/10 in every way possible. The tour company was so incredibly flexible with us as we had another tour change last minute. This company is honest, transparent, quick to respond, and if every guide they have is like ours, blessed abundantly with phenomenal people. 5.00Our tour with Christina was absolutely amazing. We had a full 2 hours in the Acropolis and we added on the 1 hour Ancient Agora option. We learned so much and Christina customized our tour based on what we expressed interest in while on the tour. She knew the best spots to take pictures and guided us around the crowds and sites with such ease. Christina is very personable and highly knowledgeable about all things Ancient Athens. Highly recommend this tour.

5.00We had one of the best private tours that’s we have done with Marisa. Her knowledge and passion of Greece, and her history and culture was infectious. Blending the mythology with historical fact, we learnt a lot and had fun. Her easy and relaxed approach as well kind offer to take photos of the two of us just made the experience. We traversed the slopes of the Acropolis and made it to the top, as well as covered the Ancient Agora. Would highly recommend the two sites together. All in all very well organised tour, with regular communication from the organisers.
