You can have an interesting Japanese cooking experience with us in a very authentic Japanese house. First, you will discover the various DASHI, Japanese soup stock, which are found in nearly all Japanese cuisine. Second, you will prepare about 5 dishes by yourself or with your partner. Our instructors will demonstrate how to cook some dishes in front of you before you start preparing on your own. After cooking your own dishes, you and other participants will sit together and enjoy your lovely dishes in the very traditional Japanese room with a fantastic garden view. After finishing your meal, we will go and explore a local supermarket together finding the ingredients we used in the class. If you like, you can buy the ingredients to prepare the dishes for your family and friends. The classes are conducted entirely in English. All of our instructors are licensed guide interpreters, so all the participants will be able to clearly understand all the information covered in the class. This class allows for English and non-English speakers as well. We look forward to seeing all of you soon!

It was such a great experience! The food was amazing, the host was really friendly and helpful, answered our questions. We did some side dishes, sushi, eggroll omlete (it was difficult to flip it but I always wanted to learn it :D ) And we did our mochi! Turns out it’s not so difficult and is delicious! We will do our own at home for sure! Thank you Miho for the great classes

We had so much joy cooking traditional Kyoto food with Miho and definitely would recommend that to anyone who would like to both try eating and cooking with an amazing teacher. It was great!

I was traveling in Kyoto for 2 days on my own this week, and I really wanted to learn some Japanese home cooking since my family back home loves Japanese food. My teacher was Miho - we met at Iroha cooking studio which is in a really pretty Japanese home near Fushimi Inari. We've made the following dishes: 1. Dashi Tamagoyaki (Japanese rolled omlette with Dashi) 2. Spinach with sesame dressing - came out amazing! Really surprised me by how good this side dish was. 3. Inari Sushi 4. Maki Sushi with egg and vegetagles. 5. Tempura vegetables (which it turned out are easier to make than I expected and in my opinion came out really great and much tastier than the ones I usually eat at restaurants in the US) 6. Miso soup 7. Mochi ice cream for dessert When I got in I told Miho I have very little experience with cooking, and she explained everything really patiently while we were cooking. I now feel confident I can repeat this process by myself, and can't wait to make this meal for my family! After we were done, I sat down to eat. It was a LOT of food, and everything came out incredible. I also had a lot of maki rolls left over which were enough for me for dinner as well. After eating, Miho took me to the local supermarket, where she showed me where to buy the different ingredients we used, and also gave recommendations for things that could be good souvenirs. The location of this class is also really good for combining with a trip to Fushimi Inari (it's around 10 minutes walk from where the class is held).

Miho was an amazing instructor that allowed us to get very hands on with traditional, delicious Japanese dishes. She was very prepared, and English was excellent. We’ve done several different cooking classes throughout the world and this one was one of the best.

We had a great time in Miho's kitchen. We learnt how to make miso soup, matcha, sushi, spinach salad, and tempura. She was super friendly and knowledgeable and also sent us the recipes. The visit to the supermarket was also a great bonus as understanding what is everything is not simple in Japan.

Hands on. Lots of information. Knowledgeable and personable. Learn techniques for a variety of dishes. Plus ends with mochi (made by us) so how can you go wrong.

We visited Miho in the morning, and were introduced to a beautiful room, to have some water and snacks, and then got straight into the cooking- the cooking was super fun, and we learned a lot about Japanese traditional cooking, and the food was superb! We had a great time with Miho, and would recommend this experience a lot!!
