On our Secret Food Tour: Le Marais Paris, you'll enjoy a variety of classic French street foods starting with a viennoiserie/croissants, and collecting breads, then go and seat to enjoy a classic croque-monsieur in the very restaurant where Jim Morrison spent some of his time in Paris, along with discovering our mystery dish and cheese while enjoying a glass of red and white wine. Visiting Le Marais also means seeing the Jewish street of Paris and tasting some creamy Falafels. Then off to a world of sweetness for some incredible chocolates and colourful macarons, all of this crowned by a dessert to finish with style.
Our tour starts at the bustling heart of Le Marais near the famous rue de Rivoli, one of the main streets of the city. During the tour we will walk the old streets, cross the Place des Vosges and see some of the oldest medieval houses of Paris. You will realise how the locals live in this part of Paris and how the city's history influence has shaped its gastronomy.

4.00Walking food tours are always a GREAT way to experience some of the culture and of course the food from places you are visiting. Having a great guide makes a world of difference. Our guide was great! She gave us a lot of information about each place we visited, about the food, about the culture. Each of our stops was a wonderful taste of Paris -- the sweet, the savory, the rich chocolates, pungent cheeses, the wine -- all great! Our tour was in August when many places shut down for a few weeks in Paris for vacation. The only reason I gave 4 stars and not 5 is because somehow our guide was completely unaware that two of our destinations were shut down that day! Fortunately she was able to pivot and find a good alternate for each of them, but walking up to a place after she has told you all about it and finding it shut down with a sign that says "Come back in two weeks" is not a good look. It seems it would take very little preparation to make sure your destinations will all be open when you arrive. Anyway, she handled the surprise well and we were all very happy with how it all went.

5.00My sister and I booked this tour during our first full day in Le Marais as a way to get acclimatized to the neighborhood, and it exceeded our expectations. Remi, our tour guide was exceptionally friendly and knowledgeable about both the food and history of the area. We tried so much great food and took recommendations for return visits. My only advice is do not eat beforehand because by the end, you will be fulfilled both in terms of food and knowledge/history of Le Marais.
