Versailles in freedom: a day out of time Visiting Versailles on your own with the Passport ticket was one of the best choices of our trip. No timetable to follow, no guidance to chase: just us, our steps, and a golden world to explore at our own pace. The Passport ticket is a true pass to wonder: full access to everything, without worries. We started at the Palace, of course. Entering the Gallery of Mirrors without haste, being able to stop as long as we wanted for every fresco, every reflection, every detail... is a luxury in itself. No earphones, just curious looks and jokes between friends about the glitz of the Sun Kings (spoiler: yes, it's exaggerated what they say, and even more). But the real love at first sight were the Domaine de Trianon and the Hameau de la Reine. If you've never seen them, imagine Marie-Antoinette playing chic peasant in a fairytale village. Few tourists, almost intimate atmosphere. There we stopped for a packed snack under a tree. No guide will tell you to do that. But that moment was Versailles, for us. The gardens, then... endless. We lost track of time (and a couple of kilometers in the legs), but even there the freedom to turn at random was the best part. Fountains, statues, hidden avenues. No racing, just wonder. Bottom line: if you love to discover, observe, get lost (even literally) and enjoy every corner without constraints, the Passport ticket is perfect. Versailles is not a place to visit quickly. It's a world to live in. And doing it alone, with your own time and emotions, is an experience that remains.
