On this whale safari tour, you will be on the boat that arrives first at the whale area from Tromsø
Take to the waves and admire Norway’s native marine life by boat on this all-inclusive, polar whale safari from Tromsø. Cruise in comfort towards Skjervøy via the magnificent mountain and seascapes while listening as a guide sheds light on the different fish and whale species thriving in the mineral-rich waters. Spot inquisitive humpbacks and killer whales, look out for bird life such as sea eagles, and frame all the action through the lens of your camera. With outdoor decking and indoor seating on board your boat, enjoy an experience with Norway’s native wildlife.
Our boat is the first one that arrives Skjervøy in the morning and also the last one leaving the whale spotting area. That will give you more time with the whales.

Trattiora Polare together with good friends became the highlight of the week on Saturday. The modern, spacious locations decorated in Northern Italian style, with many fine details, give the place a quiet and pleasant atmosphere. The open kitchen looks nice, has a real charcoal grill and wood-fired pizza oven. Carpaccio first, then grill dry fish, both taste experiences that raise Tromsø to a high international level! Thanks to skilled professionals in the kitchen and in serving. Congratulations to Sindre and companions on the refreshing effort in our city!

This is one of the most magical experiences I have ever had! We lucked out with perfect weather for winter in Norway. Clear skies for the limited daylight we had and it was gorgeous. The boat ride out to the bay was surrounded by snowcapped mountains and the crew provided great information about the journey and the whales. Once to the spot, it was nonstop wildlife. A few people saw a mink whale! But everyone saw plenty of humpbacks and orcas. We spent plenty of time at the location and everyone was having an amazing time. On the ride back, they served delicious soup and we had snacks and beverages the entire time. On the journey back, we even got to see the northern lights, which was just a cherry on top of an already perfect day. My group LOVED this tour and I would do it again. If you are having doubts, throw them away and book this!!!

An absolutely incredible day with Polar Adventures. The guides were friendly and knowledgeable, the journey to and from Skervjoy was comfortable despite the choppy waves and it was just a small group on the boat, and to top it off we saw 25-30 orca. We were lucky to split off from the other tour boats and followed one pod for over an hour. We also did the northern lights tour with this company which was also excellent - brilliant views of the northern lights even on a very cloudy and snowy evening.

Seeing the whales was incredible. We got to see orcas and humpback whales. The trip there was long but we got super lucky with a smooth ride. Once we got there the staff were super engaging in giving history on the whales, pointing out where to look. We drove around following the different groups of whales. On the way back they gave soup. Unfortunately it was not gluten free. Then we got to see the northern lights on the water as we came home and they were incredible. Highly recommend but be careful if the water is choppier as it is 6+ hours of travel to get to the whales.

Outstanding trip. Such a knowledgeable guide, friendly and approachable team. We cannot praise this family-run business enough. We were fortunate to see Fin and Humpback whales and lots of Orcas on the day we went, which made the trip extra special. Thank you to the whole team for an amazing day.

We went on a whale safari with the Capella (25 guests & 4 crew) today. - Super nice and attentive crew - Very punctual departure (07:50) and at 10:50 the first whales seen - We have seen many orcas (very close) and two fin whales (some distance away) - We were about 2h in the whale area - Enough space to watch for everyone - Super meals and Service on board All in all a super great trip and again a thank you to the super crew.

Great opportunity to see different types of whale.which lasted 9 hours. Free availability of soft drinks and biscuits, lunch of excellent hot soup and focaccia. Extremely friendly staff. The biologist guide was inexperienced with limited knowledge and did not educate us the way we expected. The boat was quite reasonable and performed very well but looked a bit tired and was quite packed with about 34 people

An amazing trip with the best of crews and spectacular sights. Such a warm, friendly personal atmosphere that only a small group can create. Really loved the guides/crew helping (Sophie, Ken, Chef Halinka and Captain Miquel) out, such a knowledge about both area and the animals we were about to see. A lot of laughter, big smiles and people from all over the world seeing Orcas, Finwales and eagles together is a memory for life. Really recomend this company if your in Tromsø.

We had a great experience with Polar Adventures. The staff were caring and knowledgeable. The scenery on the way was spectacular and we had a bonus viewing of reindeer but best of all was that we saw plenty of whales. We lost count of the number of orca, saw 3 humpbacks close up and a fin whale. We appreciated the veggie soup for lunch and the unlimited hot drinks and biscuits for the long trip out and back. No one was seasick either!
