This sounded great on paper but in action it was just ok for the price. Tour guide was nice but soft-voiced, so we couldn't hear a lot of what she said. We started with a stop for a Gyro sandwich, which was tasty but very large. Then to the wine bar, which had very loud music playing and a somm with a very thick accent and high-pitch - again heard nothing she said. The shop with the olive oil and other treats was the highlight. Dinner was at a very crowded and warm place. The food was fine, but it was very typical of Greek food we had all had before - nothing new. Plus we hardly needed dinner after the huge Gyros we had at the start.
Athens day 1 must do.

Would highly recommend this wonderful tour. Gari was the perfect guide, very knowledgeable, sensitive and thoughtful. The visits were well thought out and very informative and included superb wine bar for a tasting which was high quality wines. The food throughout was excellent in lovely venues. The next day, I met up with some Greek friends who were over from Australia and was pleased to be able to recommend restaurants. We ate at the wine bar and one of the restaurants Gari introduced me to and also visited the olive oil shop several times where Maria was very happy to welcome us and help with recommendations. All in all an excellent tour and I would suggest doing it at the beginning of a visit to Athens as it will help inform you of how to plan your holiday. Thank you Gari.

This was a fun introduction to the Athens food scene. Lots to eat and drink and a very informative, energetic guide. We really enjoyed stopping at neighborhood eateries as well as small shops and wine bars to sample local specialities. Great thing to do on your first night in town.

Our group of six plus our new Australian friend had an awesome evening. Niki took us to some great restaurants(2) a great wine tasting, an olive oil tasting and then capped it all off with a nice gelato. Great food great drinks and great company with our best new Grecian friend Niki! Would do it all again. Great time.
