Beijing South Railway Station
You can choose to depart at any time from 8am to 9:30am – your private guide will collect you from your hotel for the short journey to Beijing South Railway Station. Traveling by bullet train, it takes around half an hour to reach Tianjin – even though it's 85 miles (137 kilometers) from Beijing.
Porcelain House
On arrival, you'll transfer to a suitable vehicle: a coach, minivan, or car with private driver, or, for groups of three or less, a taxi. Your first stop is Porcelain House, a 1920s French-style colonial villa covered in thousands of pieces of ancient porcelain. Besides the startling exterior, the 5,000-square-yard (4,200-square-meter) interior is home to a museum of porcelain and antiques, including spectacular marble carvings, crystal, and semi-precious gems from the collection of the owner, Zhang Lianzhi.

My tour guide Maggie and I had a great trip to Tianjin on the bullet train. Always wanted to try the train. We saw many areas of the city, the ceramic house, Tianjin Eye of Tianjin Ferris wheel, a great lunch and great conversation. Thanks Maggie for making my trip so memorable.

We booked this tour primarily to experience the bullet train, and see a different city during a short day trip. Tianjin has a very different vibe from Beijing, and we enjoyed trying the street food and seeing the Porcelain house. Our guide Hellen was friendly, funny, and very knowledgeable about China. Unfortunately the Eye was not open, so we did not get a chance to ride it. However we really enjoyed spending the day with Hellen, and learning more about different cities in China. She was a wonderful tour guide!

Lisa our guide picked us up in our hotel at 8 am and was by far our favorite guide of our whole trip! She really knew how too navigate the cities and train station using cars and taxi services to get it done. THis tour is great for people in Beijing for awhile and want to experience a different city. The bullet train is an experience in it self but we had already done a bullet train so we were old pros. Tianjin is a much nicer city than Beijing and much more laid back and less chaotic. The porcelain house is amazing and we really enjoyed the Tianjin eye. We had lunch at a Hot Pots which my wife really wanted to try and Lisa our guide was more than accommodating. We really had a nice day with Lisa who sat on the train with us and we exchange points about our cultures which is my favorite part of traveling. My suggestion if you book this tour to request Lisa as she is amazing!
