What To Expect

You will visit Gubeikou Watertown and Simatai Great Wall with a private car and driver, pick up at your located hotel in Beijing or Beijing Capital airport or Beijing train station. The Simatai Great Wall is divided into day and night sessions. The day session starts ticket checking at 10:00am and stops at 16:10pm. The watchtowers from East 1 to East 10 are open. The night session starts ticket checking at 6:00pm and stops at 9:30pm, it's only open from East 5 to East 8. Please choose your departure time according to your needs. There will be a drone show every day after dark. The performance time is subject to change, and the viewing location is Riyuedao Square (Sun Moon Island Square). It may be temporarily canceled due to severe weather or airspace control.

Gubei Water Town

It's located in the north of Beijing, It's about 145km from downtown Beijing, It takes about 2hours and 15mintues by car, Gubei Water town has both the solemn atmosphere of the ancient town in the north and the graceful elegance of the water town in the south of the Yangtze River. The buildings are mostly two-story wooden structures of blue brick and gray tile, built by the water, with many Bridges and channels, presenting a unique style of "small South of the North". Gubei Water Town offers a rowing program where you can paddle the Tanghe River and enjoy the scenery on both sides. At night, the Gubei Water Town is brightly lit, the water town and the Great Wall complement each other, and there are wonderful activities such as drone performance and musical fountain, which bring visitors a unique night tour experience. When you tired, you can go to Longfengchi Hot Spring in Gubei Water Town to soak your feet, which can help you relax both physically and mentally and relieve fatigue.

Amazing time at Simatai and a lovely relaxing one at Gubei Water Town! Simatai is truly authentic and even though the Water Town is not, we really appreciated all the restaurants and modern amenities. Our driver Davis was awesome. He was on time, friendly, very knowledgeable, and kind. He helped us with getting our tickets, got us where we needed to be, and helped us manage our time very well. He gave us water bottles for the hike, and very good recommendations for the Wall and also Beijing. His English was very good. Taking a car with a private driver was very much worth it, with time being limited and also the weather being so hot. The car was a clean, cool, comfortable, and smooth ride. Linda made sure to confirm all details regarding the logistics, which was reassuring. She was very responsive and organized, and offered us a lot of help. On top of the great experience, we also received some souvenirs from them at the end of the day. 100% would recommend!

My driver Mr Liu was always on time and drove safely. He also helped with the ticket purchase, and did not set a time limit for us to enjoy the sights, where he said that the key is for us to enjoy the trip. Very good service!

The Simatai section of the Great Wall was challenging and fun, even in the rain. The Gubel water town was modern and interesting. The Water Town did not seem to really come to life until the afternoon. The driver did not speak English, but effectively communicated with a translation app. He purchased Asian pears and moon cakes to enhance our exposure to local products on the trip there and back. He was as good as most guides/drivers who spoke English. It was a very good day.

A fantastic day . Nicolas my driver was friendly and kind. When we arrived he showed me how to get tickets and this place would recommend cable car due to the lack of time . The walk on the great walk at simatsi was brilliant . The water town was quaint and do much fun exploring around it .

Our family of 5 had a wonderful experience from start to finish. It was very easy to communicate regarding the pickup time and place. Our guide was also kind to let us spend an extra hour in Gubei Water Town.
