Suitable for beginners as well as intermediates! In this cooking class I will share the secret of my crispy schnitzels and juicy apple strudel with you. You will learn about Austrian cuisine, the kind my grandmother cooked for me when I was a small child. The cooking class takes place at my home - in the apartment where already my great-grandparents lived. First I will tell you something about Austrian cuisine, then I will explain all the dishes that we will cook together later. The menu will have 2 or 3 courses depending on the number of participants: (my grandmother's famous Old Viennese potato soup), chicken schnitzel with cucumber and potato salad and freshly baked apple strudel for dessert! It is very important to me that every participant cooks as much as possible themselves, so that you can recreate all the dishes at home. After cooking, we will eat all the dishes together. We prepare traditional Austrian dishes. Most dishes contain meat. I can also arrange a vegetarian, lactose-free or gluten-free class for you. (Vegan is not possible, also you cannot make gluten-free apple strudel) All classes are held in English! Groups are between 2 and 12 participants.

My sister and I had an amazing time. Great for both beginner and experienced bakers/cooks. Our host was lovely, I highly recommend attending.

Lena’s class is thoughtful and organized. We made soup, two salads, schnitzel and two types of strudel. All were delicious! I will take the skills I learned from the class and use at home. Loved it and cannot recommend enough!

The person never communicated. The meet up location is a apartment complex and I was never provided an apartment number. I was not able to attend after trying to contact the host through multiple means.

This was our best experience in Vienna. Our hostess was delightful, and it was a very relaxed experience limited to a small group size. We were able to experience not only the wonderful recipes, but enjoyed sharing experiences with our fellow travelers. If you are looking for more in your trip than checking off the usual tourist spots, this is a great way to do that.

Lena was an incredible cooking guide, checking in with everyone while simultaneously allowing us the freedom to actually be making the food ourselves. She was also very accommodating to any food restrictions or allergies. The food all turned out amazing, and I would definitely recommend this class to anyone visiting Vienna!

Cannot state enough how wonderful this class was. Instructions were easy to understand, everyone had the opportunity to create a dish for the lunch, a simple ‘cookbook’ of the recipes we made…

This class was extremely fun, relaxing and educational. Our host / cook explained how we make each dish & then we divided into groups of two to prepare a dish. Her home is cozy and perfect for learning these Austrian dishes. You'll leave with a full tummy and warm heart. When you arrive ring the door bell , #20, and she will buzz you in. The stairs are on the left side of the courtyard. Go up two flights of stairs and her home is to the left. There is no elevator and the stairs are spiral. Just FYI
